While promoting his new film, the Harry Potter actor shared a “genius” Nando’s hack that he learned from his sister, who used to work at the popular chicken restaurant

A Harry Potter star has revealed a “genius” Nando’s tip that’s sure to get fans of the spicy chicken chain salivating.

Known for its signature Portuguese flame-grilled peri-peri chicken, Nando’s boasts an extensive menu where the sides are as much of a hit as the main event, and part of the fun is mixing up the heat levels to suit your taste.

Now, thanks to actor Hero Fiennes Tiffin, who played a young Voldemort in the beloved wizarding franchise, there’s a “genius” way to maximise your poultry portion without depleting your wallet too much.

During a chat with celeb interviewer Jeff Thurm while promoting Amazon Prime Video’s latest flick, Picture This, where he stars alongside Bridgerton’s Simone Ashley, Hero was eager to spill the beans on a trick his sister, a former Nando’s employee, clued him into.

Hero revealed to Jeff: “So my sister used to work at Nando’s and there’s a little bit of a hack that she told me everyone was doing which I think is the best one to do.

“I’m pretty sure it’s like, you order the four thighs with two sides and then you get a garlic bread as a side and then the chips and then you make your own sandwich but it’s just loads more chicken for less money, so I’ve started doing that.”

Clearly taken aback by the savvy suggestion, Jeff responded: “That’s genius.” Hero added: “The thighs are more succulent than the breast, so you get four thighs.” Simone was left impressed with the tip, responding with a succinct: “Wow.”

Following her reaction, Jeff exclaimed: “That is the best Nando’s hack I’ve ever heard because I get the chicken butterfly and it’s never enough chicken.”

When the snippet surfaced on BuzzFeedUK’s Instagram page, interviewer Jeff couldn’t resist chipping in his endorsement, adding: “Doing this asap”.

Actor Hero found his way into the spotlight portraying a young Tom Marvolo Riddle – the future Lord Voldemort and main antagonist – in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, following in the footsteps of his uncle Ralph Fiennes who played the older version in the blockbuster series.

Despite the family connection, director David Yates insisted Hero landed the part thanks to his talent, which set him apart from the thousands of hopefuls who auditioned.

The director praised him for capturing the “corners and dark moods and odd spirit of the character”. He also described the young performer as “very focused and disciplined”.

Hero’s familial tie to uncle Ralph did play a serendipitous role, with the family resemblance being the “clincher” for his casting. Ralph made his Voldemort debut in the fourth film of the wildly popular saga.
