The presenter was working with celebrity make-up artist Ruby Hammer who showed how to create an instant Maldives glow using just one multi-use product

Summer is coming, it really is – but not nearly quick enough for us and, we hear, not quickly enough for Nadine Baggott either. The presenter and beauty guru has been getting tips on how to create the sort of gorgeous glow you normally associate with a holiday in the Maldives, but from one simple, multi-tasking product.

Nadine is used to working with some of the most talented make-up artists in the industry so when she hooks up with Ruby Hammer, who’s so outstanding at make-up artistry that she’s been awarded an MBE for it, it’s worth listening to what the two have to say. Ruby is always known for championing multi-tasking products (because who’s got space in their make up bag for things that only do one thing?), and this latest hack is no different.

She was showing Nadine how to apply her Ruby Hammer Cheek Colour in Bronze, £24, to take a finished make-up look from professional to full-on glowing in just a few moments.

The Maldives in a stick

“I’ve already been Ruby Hammered (which is why I look the best I’ve ever looked),” said Nadine, sitting in a make-up chair in front of Ruby in a video posted to her Instagram account. The make-up artist then went on to explain that while Nadine looked beautifully professional, she wanted to quickly give her an all-over glow, worth of her upcoming holiday.

“Are you telling me your new product is basically the Maldives in a tube, in a push up?” asked Nadine. Ruby goes on to apply the bronzer – a lightweight cream formula that goes on with a blendable silky, satin finish, and has just the right amount of subtle sparkle.

How to apply the product like a pro

Nadine also revealed that she has used the product before, but this was the first time she has discovered how to apply it ‘properly’. She explained under the video, “When I filmed recently with Ruby I discovered her new @rubyhammerbeauty Cheek Colour in Bronze and here Ruby shows you how to apply it to give skin a sun-kissed look. I learnt that I had been using the product incorrectly applying directly to my face. Instead Ruby uses a stippling brush and fingertips yes where bronzer usually goes but also on your eyelids and lips … subtle but perfect.”

This is another of Ruby’s famously multi-tasking products. Rather than simply being a cheek product, you can use it all over the face, to create a sun-kissed glow.

“People think if it says cheek colour that it’s just for cheeks,” says Ruby, before applying it with a brush to Nadine’s face, starting at cheeks but then moving on over the eye and under the brow bone. She then applied a little with her finger over Nadine’s lipstick, giving an extra dimension to the peachy product she had already applied.
