A mother remains in critical condition after being shot multiple times in front of her young son on Christmas Eve.
Police are investigating the devastating incident, which reportedly involved two hooded men breaking into the woman’s home in Cronin Street, Peckham, south-east London, at around 11pm.
The victim, who was in the room with her one-year-old son, is now fighting for her life after being rushed to the hospital in an ambulance with multiple gunshot wounds. She spent Christmas in a critical care unit and is still on the ward receiving treatment.

It’s believed that two men in hooded clothing approached the south-east London home’s front door while it was dark before letting off at least seven rounds. The force said both then fled on foot in the direction of Commercial Way, MailOnline reports.
Detective Inspector Jordan Gardner, who is leading the investigation, said: “This was a shocking act of violence, carried out at a family home where a young child was present. It is vital we identify those responsible and ensure justice for the victim.
“We know there will be people who saw or heard something that could help us. Even if the information seems minor, please come forward.
“We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who was in the area of Cronin Street, Commercial Way or Moody Road between 21:45 and 23:45hrs on the evening of Wednesday, 24 December.”

Just two days before the Peckham shooting, police plunged a city street into lockdown after a man and woman were shot in Bermondsey.
The two victims, both in their 30s, were rushed to hospital after the terrifying incident. Pictures at the time show a street in the town swarming with police and paramedics.
The shots were fired close to Southernwood Retail Park, which sits opposite a Tesco Superstore. The road was sealed off with two cordons on Sunday evening, and a scene remains on Oxley Close as police continue with their enquiries.
A Met Police spokesman said: “Two victims were treated at the scene. A man in his 30s, was treated for gunshot wounds to the shoulder by paramedics and another victim, a woman also in her 30s, was treated for gunshot wounds to the leg, before both were taken to hospital. Their injuries have been confirmed as non-life-changing and non-life-threatening.
