Shoppers say the ‘gorgeous’ coat helps them stay ‘as warm as toast’ in autumn and winter and ‘goes well with anything’

Marks and Spencer’s shoppers have been left in awe after trying on the store’s £69 Diamond Quilted Padded Coat. The coat has been praised for not only keeping you ‘nice and warm’, but also for ‘looking great on’ and ‘feeling so luxurious’.

Although it is not the cheapest coat on the high-street currently, it has 100 glowing five star reviews. Customers say it is ‘worth the price’ and many have been pleased by its two zip fastenings, Stormwear technology and Thermowarmth insulation.

There are four neutral colours to choose from: navy, black, mocha, and beige. Each can easily go with almost anything in your wardrobe, from boots and trainers to jeans and jumpers. Sizes start from a UK six and go up to a UK 24.

Marks and Spencer’s Diamond Quilted Padded Coat is designed to keep you snug when the temperature drops. It’s made in a regular fit, with a zip fastening and a high collar for extra cosiness.

The ‘lightweight’ coat is made with Marks and Spencer’s Thermowarmth wadding, while its Stormwear technology provides a water-repellent finish to help you stay dry in light showers.

There is fleece lining in the two welt pockets, and the concealed internal zip delivers extra insulation. The Diamond Quilted Padded Coat is part of Marks and Spencer’s Collection, a range full of “easy-to-wear wardrobe staples that combine classic and contemporary styles”.

Marks and Spencer’s is also selling a Stormwear Quilted Hooded Longline Puffer Coat for £89, which is the third bestselling product in sportswear. For a slightly shorter option, shoppers can check out the store’s Feather and Down Padded Puffer Coat for £85.

Customers have given Marks and Spencer’s Diamond Quilted Padded Coat an impressive score of 4.8 stars out of five. As many as 74% of shoppers say they would recommend the coat with the majority saying it is ‘true to size’.

Car_glgo said: “Really good all rounder, cosy for shopping but not too warm to wear whilst on a walk.” Fifi put: “Comfortable lovely colour and very warm when worn.” Rtues added: “Comfy warm and stylish, like the zip that comes up from hem, easier to sit in.”

Tweetheart wrote: “Lovely fit. Looks great. Feels luxurious. Toasty and warm.” Teds penned: “I am really pleased with this coat. It’s warm and yet light to wear and I like the colour and the good fit. It was also a very reasonable price. As I am short it covers a lot more of me than it would a taller person which I am happy about so my legs stay dry.”

Annette typed: “Lightweight coat, size give room enough to add jumper in cooler weather. have used in light shower on a windy day, it kept me warm and dry.” Caroline said: “Love this coat, perfect for going into winter. Warm and padded without being too thick and two deep pockets.”

However, one shopper called Annie had an issue with sizing. “Far too long and very bulky. Returned to store very disappointed,” she said. TC66 added: “Lovely coat but no good for short people! Was warm, nice fabric but too long.”

There are plenty of other high street brands selling their own puffer coats. H&M is offering a black Hooded Puffer Coat for £54.99 in six different sizes. At New Look, shoppers can get a Mink Hooded Mid Length Puffer Coat for £59.99.

Next is stocking a Threadbare Longline Hooded Padded Coat for £50 in five shades, but you’ll have to be quick as sizes are already running out. On Asos, customers can buy Brave Soul’s maxi padded coat with borg contrast detail in brown for £50.
