M&S shoppers are bracing themselves for the colder months by snapping up a quilted longline coat they describe as ‘slimming’ and ‘warm’. The Thermowarmth Diamond Quilted Padded Coat is £69 and comes in black and beige colours.
The longline coat is designed to keep you snug when the temperature drops. It has a hood and a drawstring around the waist to cinch you and give some shape to your silhouette.
The fleece-lined coat is made in a regular fit, with a zip fastening and a high collar for extra cosiness. It’s also water-repellent, making it a great everyday coat for miserable winter climes.

Over in the reviews section, one shopper said: “Nice and comfy without being too baggy. I’m 5ft 8 and it’s a nice length. Really good value for money.”
A second left a detailed review, reading: “I had just purchased a smart Seasalt raincoat from M&S but needed a warm cosy one for dog walking in our seaside town. I found this one which seemed to fit the bill but was very pleasantly surprised when it arrived to see how it ticked all the boxes, and then some.
“It’s warm, yet light, has two covered pockets on the outside, plus a zipped, secure one in the inner lining, so keys are safe. The cuffs are knitted, preventing the winds from the Atlantic from going up the sleeves, and the hood stays secure, even in the strongest gale.
“Not only is it also smart enough to wear into town, but it’s half the price of anything comparable I’ve looked at. Absolutely superb. Well done M&S.” A third shopper said: “A super cozy, lightweight but warm coat. Bought the size 20, my usual dress size, and it fits beautifully and is actually surprisingly slimming, which is an added bonus.
“The zip works smoothly. Very happy with it.” Although, not all customers were satisfied with their purchase, with one writing: “Not much difference between size 12 and 14.
“I’m 5ft 3 and the coat was far too voluminous on me and shapeless. Didn’t like position of pockets, the coat would be very cosy in colder weather but not for me. Will be returning.”
