Too Good To Go is a company on a mission to reduce food waste, with participating venues including supermarkets, local stores, cafes and restaurants. A recent M&S bag was summed up in four words
Two M&S shoppers snapped up a bag of M&S food via the popular Too Good To Go food waste marketplace for just £4, and summed up the contents in four words. Too Good To Go “is a social impact company on a mission to inspire and empower everyone to fight food waste together”.
The company’s app is “the world’s largest marketplace for surplus food”. It helps users “rescue good food from going to waste, offering great value for money at local stores, cafes and restaurants.”
Participating venues typically sell produce for around 50-75% less than the original value, helping people snap up coveted “surprise” bags for a bargain price.
Laura Khoshaba, who describes herself as “a singer who loves food” took to Instagram – where she boasts more than 50K followers – to unbag the contents of her “first ever” Too Good to Go Bag from M&S, alongside her mum, Ann.
The mother-daughter duo regularly review food and products from a range of supermarkets and high end stores, with Ann always remaining firmly out of view of the camera as she shares her thoughts.
Sitting in their car, Laura began: “Okay, so we got a Too Good To Go bag from M&S, so this was £4.”
Ann agreed: “It’s a bargain”.
Laura then started unpacking their items, showing each product to the camera. She said: “Here’s everything we got. So we got a pilau rice, we got flame-grilled chicken fillets, we got a chicken and bacon pasta bake.
“I’m really happy about this; we got some green olives, and a Greek-style strawberry yoghurt.”
Ann then said: “So, I mean, the pasta bake is for two, so this could be a meal for three because you could do rice, chicken, and the pasta bake.”
Summing everything up, Ann said: “That’s fantastic for £4.”
Laura agreed: “Yeah, that’s a really good deal.”
Ann continued: “So, if you were to buy all these items, they’re around £17 so for £4, that’s fantastic.”
Laura then said: “Yeah, that’s really good. This is our first ever Too Good To Go bag from M&S.”
And Ann interjected: “And we love M&S.”
In the comments section, fellow food lovers were eager to share their thoughts. One person said: “I got my first ever too good to go bag a while ago and it was my local M&S in the garage and omg it was amazing!!! I got extra lucky as only 2 of us ordered that evening and I had nearly £50 worth of food!!!
“It included the Xmas brie and cranberry sandwiches, fruit bowls, yoghurt, pesto pasta, so much amazing food!!!! I had so much food in fact that I was sharing it out with everyone that crossed my path for a couple of days!!!”
Another said: “Really good £4 bag, could definitely add few bits of salad, veg and get 2 meals for 2 days if on a budget”.
A third shared: “I love the too good to go app. My local M&S down here in Devon doesn’t use it though. I’d love it if they did.”
But someone else wouldn’t have been impressed and added: “It’s not a very exciting one. I’m sure it’s good value compared with the sticker prices, but it’s a bunch of stuff I’d never buy. I would’ve been underwhelmed.”
