Nothing will work harder in your summer wardrobe than a good pair of linen trousers, and Marks & Spencer’s £28 pair have become something of a cult favourite amongst shoppers. The Linen Rich Drawstring Wide Leg Trousers have been a huge hit, with sizes almost constantly selling out in every single colour making them the number one best selling pair in M&S’ trouser range at the moment.

However good news for anyone who wants to add a pair to their wardrobe, as M&S has re-stocked almost every colourway, including their versatile black pair which are a staple to wear this summer. You’ll need to be quick though, because sizes are already starting to sell out again in every colourway, proving just how popular they are.

You can choose from seven different colour options , including burgundy, cream, white and navy, with the neutral colourways proving easy to incorporate into your everyday wardrobe. Whether you want them for a breezy beach holiday, as a swimsuit cover up, or to replace your favourite work trousers in the soaring temperatures, a pair of linen trousers are an effortless way to keep cool whilst still looking chic.

M&S’ Linen Rich Drawstring Wide Leg Trousers are made from 55% linen and 45% viscose, which gives you all the breathability of linen whilst making them a little less likely to get wrinkled and creased with each wear. This ensures they stay smart enough to wear to the office, whilst still feeling relaxed, cool and comfortable all day.

If you prefer pure linen, Intimissimi’s £49 Pure Linen Plain-Weave Trousers are a great alternative, offering the same relaxed silhouette whilst being made from 100% linen. Alternatively, these Straight-Leg Tailored Linen Trousers from Cos are perfect if you want something smarter for work – and they’re now on sale for £30 down from £75.

However M&S’ Linen Rich Drawstring Wide Leg Trousers have a flattering but relaxed silhouette, with a high elasticated waist that fastens with a drawstring. The wide leg fit lets you wear them with everything from flip flops to loafers depending on the occasion, and they have side pockets which is always a bonus.

They’re also proving a huge hit with shoppers, with one writing: “Very comfortable and cool in hot temperatures but still appropriate for work.”

Another agreed: “Loved these so much I bought 2 pairs. Comfy, cool and smart. Can be dressed up or very casual. Either way they are a winner for me.”

“Very comfortable pair of trousers that look stylish and fitted well round the hips so didn’t look too baggy.”

Although the Linen Rich Drawstring Wide Leg Trousers come in a range of lengths, including extra short, petite, regular and long, and sizes six to 24, some shoppers found getting the sizing right a little tricky. One said: “I’m average height but the short size was much too long.”

With someone else saying: “Nice and comfy. I originally got the Long, as I always do with M & S trousers, but they were way too long. The Regular length is fine.”

But others loved them, adding: “Really comfortable and great fit. Flattering and cool to wear. Material is soft unlike some others. A great asset to summer wardrobe.”

And another happy shopper chimed in: “The fit is very comfortable and the quality is lovely. They’re especially good at the moment with the heat.”
