Sky has cut the price of its Samsung S25 Ultra plan – and it works out a lot cheaper than what’s on paper

Upgrading a mobile is a tricky feat, not only do consumers want to find the cheaper prices but with so many UK retailers offering upfront deals or pay-as-you-go discounts it can be tricky to know where to start. The Samsung Galaxy S25 range launched earlier this year and for Android fans it’s likely to be top of the wishlist – and we’ve found an offer worth considering.

For this deal, shoppers will have to ditch the Samsung store – despite it’s current offer of up to £660 cut off when you trade in an old device – another retailer’s price drop caught our eye. As Sky’s S25 Ultra package cuts hundreds off the device price….for all shoppers, not only those handing over an old phone.

The deal can be found on the S25 Ultra 5G plan, for those who pick the 256GB device. Locking into a 36-month contract shoppers will pay a cheaper £42 per month instead of the usual £48.

It’s a worthy saving, and one not always offered on the flagship model in the S25 range, which sits above the standard S25 and S25+ when it comes to size and boosted performance. Looking at rival offers, Carphone Warehouse sells the same device for £39.99 per month, and that’s with an upfront cost of £29.

Bundling in the device discount with the Sky data offers there are more savings but this does depend on the data amount shoppers pick. For instance, Unlimited data shoppers would pay £22 per month on top of the device price. A downside to Sky’s plans compared to rival, in our shopping opinion, is the contract length.

Up close the device plan looks as though it’s spread across either 12 months or 24 months (as it’s in two bold boxes) but in reality it’s a lot longer than this. In smaller text underneath, which could be easily missed, Sky states the actual contract length: “This is a 36-month contract. You can swap to a new phone anytime after 31 days, or after 24-months at no extra cost.”

The S25 range is unique when it comes to its pair up with Google and its Gemini AI, which is a selling point for some fans of the brand. During the time of the launch President and Head of MX at Samsung, TM Roh, said: new AI system ‘together with Google’ as he said: “A shared vision for an AI ecosystem that’s limitless and provides personalised experience… into every touch point of the interface regardless what app you use.”

So, in the first couple of minutes Samsung confirmed all the AI fuelled rumours and partnered with Google to bring AI Gemini to the new Samsung Galaxy S25 models. You can pre-order the Galaxy S25 here.

A disappointing feature is Sky’s deal is actually more of a discount than the site points out, on top of the deal Sky says a £192 discount from deduction from £48 per month to £42 on the device – a £6 saving. Having covered plenty of Sky deals previous we know this is across the full 36-month plan and should amount to £216 overall not £192 – we have contacted Sky about this and will update shoppers.
