The Motability Scheme is an organisation that allows disabled people to lease a new car, scooter or powered wheelchair
The Motability Scheme has rolled out an update to aid more individuals in determining their eligibility for additional support. It has given its brand a fresh image, including a new logo and updated design, with the crucial addition of simplified information, making it easier for those eligible to tap into the benefits of the scheme.
Enabled by Motability Operations, the initiative allows people entitled to certain disability benefits at higher or enhanced mobility rates to allocate some or all of their award to lease a new car, scooter, or wheelchair-friendly vehicle. The service is available to recipients of Disability Living Allowance (DLA), Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP), and War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMS).
Furthermore, the scheme contributes to costs associated with maintenance, repairs, and insurance for its customers. CEO of Motability Operations, Andrew Miller, has noted: “We’re working with car manufacturers and our partners with the aim of providing our customers with stand-out value and the scheme is 45% cheaper on average compared to alternative options.”
He also emphasized the organisation’s dedication during the tumultuous times in the automotive sector: “During this period of rising costs and an unprecedented period of change for the car industry, we’re committed to ensuring the sustainability of the scheme so that we can continue to keep our customers connected now and in the long term.”
