Morrisons has confirmed that it will be open as normal across the Early May bank holiday weekend, with the only change set for the bank holiday itself on Monday, May 26

Morrisons has confirmed its bank holiday weekend opening hours, and its hours will be changing. The second May bank holiday falls on Monday, May 26.

Opening hours will be reduced slightly on Monday, so it’s best to know the changes before heading down to your local store. Morrisons has confirmed that it will be open as normal across the weekend, with the only change set for the bank holiday itself on Monday.

Morrisons usually opens from either 6am or 7am and closes between 10pm and midnight, and this will be the case on Friday, May 23 and Saturday, May 24.

This includes Morrisons Daily stores which are the chain’s convenience store brand. The majority of Morrisons Daily stores are open from 7am until 10pm. Morrisons petrol stations will be open from 6:30am until 10:30pm.

On Sundays, larger Morrisons stores in England and Wales only open for six hours under Sunday trading laws. That means this weekend stores will open at either 10am and 11am and close between 4pm and 5pm.

Morrisons Daily stores are open from 7am until 10pm every day and this will remain the same over the bank holiday weekend. Some Morrisons Daily stores open a little later until 11pm.

On the bank holiday Monday, larger supermarket stores will be opening at 7am and will be closing earlier, with the majority of stores pulling down the shutters at 8pm.

Morrisons petrol stations will be open on the Early May bank holiday, although opening times will vary across the country. However, the majority will be open from 8am until 10pm.

All Morrisons stores in Scotland, will also remain open and trading under their normal trading hours all weekend – this includes its smaller convenience ones and petrol stations.

This is because the trading rules are different in Scotland and larger businesses can remain open on Sundays and bank holidays.

The supermarket has around 500 supermarket stores across the UK, and as opening times do vary, you should check the Morrisons store finder tool online to see when your local branch will be open.
