The supermarket chain says any of the changes will be highlighted in the store as well as on its website
Morrisons has announced is it making changes to a wide range of its grocery line – including some of its Savers products. The supermarket chain has told customers any changes will be easily visible in store and on its website.
Announcing it is lowering prices on popular products that regularly feature in the weekly basket of customers, it says it forms part of its ongoing commitment to deliver value to customers and help keep their bills down. It said any new prices would be live in store and online from this week and will run throughout April.
The cuts will cover a wide variety of groceries including its Market Street produce including Fyffes Loose Bananas (now 90p), Morrisons Baby Potatoes 1kg (now £1.09), Morrisons Corn Cobettes (2pk – now £1.29) and Morrisons Baby Plum Tomatoes 250g (now 68p). It says the move will help shoppers “make everyday meals affordable”.

And “to help stretch customers’ pennies even further”, prices have also been lowered in the Morrisons Savers range, across both food and household essentials. Alex Paver, Pricing and Customer Director at Morrisons, said: “We know consumer confidence remains low, and for many of our customers, managing household budgets is a real concern. That’s why we’ve focused on lowering the price on everyday essentials and family favourites that we know our customers buy week in, week out.
“By cutting prices across 1000s of key products, we’re helping customers keep the cost of the weekly shop down. This reflects our continued commitment to helping customers spend less, while enjoying the quality Morrisons is known for.”
Morrisons says the latest round of price reductions form part of its ongoing investment in affordable everyday shopping. In January, Morrisons cut the prices on 2,500 products, with a focus on fresh produce, cupboard staples, and branded items to help customers manage post-Christmas budgets.
Last week, the retailer had a number of Easter price cuts on seasonal roast essentials including carrots, parsnips and whole swede priced at just 4p each, alongside deals on meat and fish centrepieces. It will also be launching its Baby Event soon, offering parents deals across a number of baby and toddler essentials, while its Cleaning Event is now live with offers across multiple household and cleaning essentials.
