The new in-store service aims to offer customers a convenient, and time-saving way to return Amazon parcels
Morrisons has announced a major change across 350 of its stores – and it impacts anyone who also buys from Amazon. The supermarket chain said that it has now introduced 350 Amazon return kiosks across its stores in the UK with further rollouts planned in the coming months.
The new in-store service aims to offer customers a convenient, and time-saving way to return Amazon parcels whilst doing their weekly shop.
Amazon return kiosks are fully automated, allowing customers to return eligible items in just a few easy steps and take advantage of Amazon’s label-free, box-free returns. After initiating a return via their Amazon account and following the prompts, shoppers can simply scan their QR code at the self-service kiosk and drop-off their eligible item. Kiosks will be located next to the Amazon Locker or the Customer Service Desk in store.
Morrisons is committed to providing the products and services that its customers love and need, with the introduction of Amazon return kiosks being the latest in a wide range of in-store services which includes photo printing, parcel collection, Wash.Me laundromats, Timpson Key Cutting and the UK’s largest network of in-store cash deposit points, giving shoppers even more reasons to visit their local Morrisons.
John Parry, Head of Services at Morrisons, said: “With parcel deliveries now a part of everyday life for most people in the UK, the introduction of Amazon return kiosks in our stores make it simple for customers to return parcels during their weekly shop, making it easier than ever before. This convenient new service adds to our existing range of in-store offerings to help our customers and give them more reasons to shop at Morrisons.”
The nationwide rollout of the Amazon return kiosks is expected to be completed in early 2026, with more locations to be added throughout the coming months. Morrisons stores offering the service will appear as an option during the Amazon returns process. Customers can also confirm availability by checking the services available in their local store using the store finder tool: https://my.morrisons.com/storefinder/
Morrisons last week said it was slowing down the checkout process at some of its tills. The supermarket introduced Talking Tills at stores nationwide and offering customers the chance to spend more time at the checkout.
Talking Tills was available last week, with workers offering customers a slower-paced checkout experience, and the opportunity to connect with anyone who may welcome a friendly chat.
David Scott, Corporate Affairs Director at Morrisons, said: “At Morrisons, supporting the communities we serve is at the heart of what we do. We know that for many people, especially at this time of year, a simple conversation can make a real difference. The Talking Tills campaign is designed to create space for those meaningful moments, offering customers the chance to slow down and chat if they’d like to.”
Daniel Robinson, Editor of Good Morning Britain, said: “In the 10 years since we launched our 1 Million Minutes campaign, we have brought together thousands of volunteers with thousands of people experiencing loneliness and isolation around the UK. And this year feels more urgent than ever, with rising prices in the shops and pressure on families, it’s so easy to feel disconnected.
“We all know what it feels like to feel lonely. And whether it’s a family member, a friend, a neighbour or a stranger, pledging just a few minutes of time can really make a difference. Our viewers have been immensely generous with their time over the years and I know this December is going to be something really special.”
The initiative was part of Morrisons’ commitment to tackling loneliness with its charity partners this Christmas, including a £50,000 donation from the Morrisons Foundation to fund 100 of Royal Voluntary Service’s festive spreads and providing 400 free Christmas meals in Morrisons cafés in partnership with Age UK. The supermarket’s in store Community Champions will also be donating thousands of Morrisons products to local festive events supporting isolated members of the community.
