Eliza and Henrietta Huszti, both aged 32, vanished after last being seen on CCTV going for a late-night walk next to the River Dee in Aberdeen, Scotland, this week

Police searching for two missing twin sisters have issued an update on the investigation, as a nearby river “remains the focus”.

Eliza and Henrietta Huszti, both aged 32, were last seen on CCTV at Victoria Bridge in Aberdeen, Scotland, at 2.12am last Tuesday. They both walked on to a footpath near the River Dee in the direction of Aberdeen Boat club but have vanished.

A police helicopter, dog branch and the marine unit have joined the search, as well as other emergency service partners. Further searches, including the coast towards the Port of Aberdeen’s South Harbour, and towards Duthie Park, are ongoing.

The River Dee remains the focus of searches as there is no evidence either of the sisters, who are part of triplets, left the area. Chief Inspector Darren Bruce said: “Eliza and Henrietta’s family are understandably extremely worried about them and we are working tirelessly to find them.

“We are seriously concerned about them and have significant resources dedicated to the enquiry. We are again urging the public to come forward with any information relating to Eliza and Henrietta’s whereabouts.

“The focus of our search remains the River Dee and I would again ask, if you were in the area at the time, please think back, did you notice anyone matching their description? Even if it doesn’t seem significant, please pass any information on and let us be the judge of that”

Officers are liaising with authorities in Hungary, where the missing women are from, to support relatives as searches continue. Eliza and Henrietta are both described as white and of slim build with long, brown hair.

Anyone with information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident number 0735 of Tuesday, 7 January, 2025. Officers are also keen on viewing dashcam footage from the date in question.

Ch Insp Bruce added: “I would again urge businesses in and around the South Esplanade and Menzies Road area to please review their CCTV footage for early morning on Tuesday, 7 January, 2025 and contact us if it holds anything that may be relevant to our investigation. We are also keen to hear from anyone with dashcam footage from that time.”

Eliza and Henritetta made the move to Scotland from Hungary about seven years ago, and are reported to be part of a close-knit family who do not understand what could have happened to them.
