Dr Clare Bailey believes the food type should be included in every meal

Dr Clare Bailey, the wife of the late health expert Dr Michael Mosley, has shared a type of food she believes should be part of every meal you eat – as it is “the key to healthy digestion and a happy gut”.

Dr Bailey, who was married to the dieting expert from 1987 until his untimely death earlier this year, regularly shares nutritional advice on social media. A health guru in her own right, she recently announced her return to sharing more health and food content on Instagram to “carry forward Michael’s legacy”, stating that it remains a significant part of her life even after his passing.

And in a new post on Monday, November 25, Dr Bailey emphasised the importance of including fibre-rich foods in each meal, describing them as key to healthy digestion.

She continued: “There are two kinds of fibre, soluble and insoluble, and both provide great health benefits. Fibre , while technically a carbohydrate, is a prebiotic that feeds the ‘good’ bacteria in your gut, which in turn play crucial roles in your health.

“The health benefits of consuming enough fibre are extensive – it supports your immune system, reduces the risk of type 2 diabetes, aids weight loss and more.”

She then directed followers to learn more about fibre and find three delicious fibre-rich meals by clicking ‘The Fast 800’ button on her bio link.
