The Met Office has issued a yellow wind warning for parts of north and northwest Scotland

The Met Office has issued a new weather warning covering four parts of the country.

The yellow warning for wind, in place from 12am to noon on Wednesday, covers areas in north and northwest Scotland. Gusts of 65 to 70 miles per hour are possible, with a small chance that a few spots could see gusts of up to 80 miles per hour, the Met Office said. The strongest winds are expected to be accompanied by rain and blustery showers.
