Merseyside Police say CPR was performed on a 65-year-old man at an address on Spellow Lane in Walton, Liverpool, on Tuesday evening but he later died at the scene
Police continue today to investigate the murder of a man at a block of flats.
Officers arrested a suspect on Tuesday night following the tragic passing of the 65-year-old man at an address on Spellow Lane in Walton, Liverpool.
Police and paramedics were called to concerns for the man’s safety and, though CPR was performed, he later died at the scene. Officers arrested another man, aged 52 and from the Toxteth area of the city, on suspicion of murder. He has been taken to a police station, where he will be interviewed by detectives.
Merseyside Police confirmed this in a statement to the media on Tuesday evening following a swift response in Walton, but continue to probe the death and request for anyone in the community with any information to come forward.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following an incident at an address in Walton this evening (Tuesday, 26 November). Emergency services were called to an address on Spellow Lane at about 6.10pm following reports of a concern for safety. Ambulance and police attended at the property and medics carried out CPR on a 65-year-old man, but sadly he died at the scene.
Another man, aged 52 years, from Toxteth was arrested nearby on suspicion of murder and has been taken to a police station, where he will be interviewed by detectives.
An investigation is underway into the death which is currently being treated as unexplained. Crime scene investigators will be carrying out forensic examinations at the scene and house-to-house inquiries are underway. Detectives will also be checking CCTV footage from the local area as part of the investigation.
