Megan McKenna makes roast dinner with Smeg Combi Oven

In case you missed it, former The Only Way is Essex star Megan McKenna has recently upped sticks to move to Germany with partner Oliver Burke ahead of their baby’s arrival. Although she has yet to reveal the exact reason behind her move, it seems Megan is already missing one or two British home comforts – namely, a traditional Sunday roast.

In an effort to get a little taste of home, Megan shared how she’d tried out making an entire roast dinner using the Smeg Countertop Oven, and it seems to have been a major success. Megan raved about how ‘beautiful’ the mini oven is, as well as praising its impressive 10 different functions that allowed her to make the entire dinner in it.

You can snap up the Smeg Countertop Oven for £849, and whilst that might seem pricey for an oven that sits on your countertop, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to discover it does so much more than just roasting. The compact oven lets you switch between 10 different functions, including grilling, steaming, air frying, defrosting and warming and, of course, a traditional oven amongst others.

It also comes with 33 automatic programmes that cover meat, fish, desserts, fish, bread and even pizza, with Megan showing there’s even a birthday cake setting for baking. As the former TOWIE star demonstrated, despite its compact size you can still fit plenty within the Smeg Countertop Oven, with Megan able to roast an entire chicken comfortably inside.

She also showed herself air frying sausages and carrots, as well as steaming broccoli, as well as revealing she’d even done some (gluten-free) Yorkshire puddings in it. In fact, the only part of the whole dinner she didn’t prepare in the Smeg Countertop Oven was her roast potatoes, which she admitted she’d done the “normal way”.

The compact Smeg Oven is great for those who have a small kitchen and want to combine all their appliances into one, as well as offering extra cooking space if you have a big family or lots of guests. Considering how well it created Megan’s roast, we’d hazard a guess that it would also be the perfect addition to cooking your Christmas dinner, too, as it would allow you to prepare extra elements whilst your usual oven is in use. It’s also a breeze to clean, with the interior of the oven made from Easy-Clean enamel, whilst the pan is double coated to seal pores and gaps so cooking build-up can be easily removed.

If Megan’s sleek Smeg version is just a little too pricey for you to splurge on right now, you can currently get the Ninja Foodi 10-in-1 Multifunction Oven for £249, down from its usual price of £269.99. It might not have the same retro-design as Megan’s, but it also has 10 different cooking functions; air fry, roast, whole roast, grill, bake, pizza, dehydrate, reheat, toast and bagel. Not to mention, it promises to save you up to 35% on your energy bill compared to using your usual full-size oven.
