McDonalds: Christmas advert 2024
McDonald’s has released its Christmas advert for 2024 – and it features an unexpected noughties club soundtrack.
The 60-second clip is titled The Gift of McDonald’s and is set to electro house anthem Satisfaction by Italian DJ Benny Benassi. It follows a couple driving down a neighbourhood street, lit up in Christmas lights, after a busy day buying Christmas presents for their family.
Along the way, they spot iconic McDonald’s characters in Christmas light form, including Grimace, Birdie and Hamburglar, while a lit up tower block building unveils the layers of a Big Mac. In the distance, the couple see the Golden Arches glowing in the distance, which entices them to visit McDonald’s.
The fast food chain says the message of the advert – which is directed by Nicolai Fuglsig – is to remind everyone of the joy of taking a well-deserved break. Michelle Graham-Clare, Chief Marketing Officer, S.V.P at McDonald’s, said: “Christmas is a magical time, but it can also feel like a whirlwind.
“With long gift lists, crowded shops, and endless wrapping, it’s easy to forget to take a moment for yourself or with your loved ones. That’s why we’re reminding everyone that the perfect festive break is always just around the corner. With ‘The Gift of McDonald’s’ we aim to capture those small moments of lightness and joy, from festive gift tags to our seasonal menu and exclusive merchandise.”
It comes after McDonald’s released details of its Christmas menu – and it includes a new burger and festive pie. Maccies has unveiled its new Cheesy McCrispy burger, which contains chicken breast fillet in a crunchy coating, served with lettuce, crispy onions, pink pickled onion chutney, bacon, two slices of cheese, and cheese sauce.
Then for afters, there’s the new Terry’s Chocolate Orange Pie, which has a crispy chocolate pastry filled with a Terry’s Chocolate Orange flavoured chocolate ganache. These will both be available for a limited time from November 20 – along with some returning fan favourites, including the Big Tasty, plus the Big Tasty with Bacon.
In case you’ve never tried it, the Big Tasty consists of a beef patty, Emmental cheese, onions, juicy tomatoes and a smoky flavoured sauce in a toasted bun. These return alongside the ever-popular Cheese Melt Dippers, which are cheese dippers made with Camembert and served with a rich tomato dip. McFlurry fans will also be able to tuck into the Terry’s Chocolate Orange McFlurry and Galaxy Caramel McFlurry once more.
