McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski has revealed how often he eats at the fast food chain, and many people have been left surprised – and even questioned how it’s possible
McDonald’s is one of the most popular fast food chains in the world, with around 38,000 locations in over 100 countries. It’s believed around 70 million people a day visit the restaurant chain, known for their iconic golden arches logo and fast-food menu, including the Cheeseburger, McNuggets, Happy Meals and Big Macs.
Even so, many McDonald’s fans have been left surprised after learning how often the chain’s CEO eats at the fast food chain. After all, if you work somewhere, you might end up feeling pretty fed up with it after a while. But this doesn’t seem to be the case for McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski.
Taking to Instagram and TikTok, Chris, who has been the President and CEO of McDonald’s since November 2019, said: “I’m finally addressing a frequently asked question… Did the answer surprise you?” The question he frequently gets asked is how often the 57-year-old from Ohio in the US eats at McDonald’s.
Chris answered: “I would tell you it’s a lot. Probably three or four times a week. Sometimes it might be a breakfast, sometimes it might be a lunch. But hey, one of the perks of the job, you get to eat at McDonald’s a lot.”
Many people were surprised by how often Chris said he ate at McDonald’s. One person simply said: “I love that,” and another added: “Jealous”. A third commented: “Wish I had your job!!! I LOVVVVVE McDonald’s a lotttt!!!!!”
And a fourth wrote: “No way, but you look so so healthy!” Others found it hard to believe the McDonald’s CEO ate there so often. “I highly highly doubt this,” said one person. And a second commented: “Yeah right.” Another pondered: “He probably just eats the salad there.”
The CEO has previously shared how he maintains his fitness, despite frequently eating at the fast food chain. In October 2021, he published a LinkedIn post titled My Marathon Motivation: Supporting Others in Times of Need. In the post he discussed the fact that he’s been running marathons since he was 22.
Sharing a typical McDonald’s meal he would have back in 2021, said he might have an Egg McMuffin with no bacon, cup of coffeee or diet Coke for breakfast. For lunch, he might have one of the salads or a Filet-O-Fish with no tartar sauce, according to EatThis,NotThat. He also revealed he remains trim by running at least 50 miles a week.
Chris took over as CEO in November 2019, replacing Steve Easterbrook. His leadership has been tested by a number of economic crises, including the Covid pandemic and tackling inflation.
