Ruben Dias received support from girlfriend Maya Jama during Manchester City’s 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest, and she wrote about her experience of the away end on Instagram
Maya Jama seemingly enjoyed her first experience of a Manchester City away end on Saturday, as she cheered on boyfriend Ruben Dias. TV and radio star Jama was at the City Ground to watch Dias and his team-mates grind out a late 2-1 win against Nottingham Forest.
The 31-year-old has been dating Dias, 28, for roughly a year and regularly attends City’s home matches at the Etihad. Jama and the Portuguese defender recently enjoyed a trip to Paris on his days off around Christmas before City returned to on Saturday.
Dias is a mainstay for Pep Guardiola’s side, who came into the Forest clash on a run of seven successive wins. Goals from Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki made it eight, despite Omari Hutchinson equalising for the hosts after half-time.
On Instagram, Jama shared a snap from the buoyant away end. “Was a whole different experience being in the crowd at an away game,” the Love Island presenter wrote, adding a laughing emoji.
At full-time, Dias could be seen laughing with team-mate Bernardo Silva, as he pointed out Jama waving from the stands. Back in August, Dias broke his silence on dating what’s like dating Jama in an interview with the Telegraph, and he was asked if attention from the public is a concern.

“No, I think that’s the last thing you think about,” the City vice-captain replied. “We are just both aware of it and there’s no way around it. But at the end of the day, you don’t make it about it. You make it about everything else and then that’s an extra you have to deal with and, obviously, be smart with it.”
Dias added: “I think in a way, maybe she would like to avoid certain kinds of situations just to be more comfortable, also being a woman. It’s obviously more difficult to tell someone to stop if they’re being rude. And I’ve kind of got an easier way to do it myself.”

It remains to be seen whether Jama will make the journey up to Sunderland on Thursday for Dias’ first game of 2026. City could go top of the Premier League table with a win, depending on the result of the clash between leaders Arsenal and third-placed Aston Villa at the Emirates on Tuesday.
Guardiola described the victory over Forest as ‘massive’, saying: “Winter time, Nottingham Forest away… I know the memory is weak, but when we won one of the six Premier Leagues this type of game happens a lot. Three points, but it’s a massive three points, mainly for the quality of the opposition.”
