The Martin Lewis Money Show has been replaced in the ITV schedule this week, with the money expert taking to X to explain the reason fans must wait

ITV has made a change to its television schedule – and one of the country’s most beloved sources of financial advice has been affected. The Martin Lewis Money Show typically now broadcasts at 7.15pm every Tuesday, but fans have been left disappointed after discovering it is absent from this week’s programme listings.

Martin Lewis, a recognisable figure seen on ITV daytime programmes like This Morning and Good Morning Britain, uses the show to offer practical guidance helping viewers reduce household expenses, increase savings and gain better insight into their finances. The programme consistently addresses topics including energy bills, mortgages, pensions, benefits and daily spending tips.

During a period when millions are experiencing pressure from the continuing cost of living squeeze, many turn to the show weekly for assistance and comfort. However, fans will need to manage without it this week – and the explanation for its absence might prove unexpected.

The Martin Lewis Money Show will not broadcast on Tuesday, February 3 due to ITV1 airing the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg between Arsenal and Chelsea, which commences at 8pm. Mikel Arteta’s side secured victory in the first encounter at Stamford Bridge 3-2 with strikes from Ben White, Viktor Gyokeres and Martin Zubimendi. Chelsea’s Alejandro Garnacho braced.

The nation’s favourite money expert confirmed the news in a message on X, writing: “No The Martin Lewis Money Show tonight due to the football. We’ll be back next Tuesday at our usual 7.15pm time.”

It’s fair to say viewers were less than impressed, with one responding: “A very poor swap, but thanks for the information.”

Another questioned: “Why does everything have to stop for the football? It always has priority over everything else.”

A third criticised ITV directly: “Very poor scheduling from ITV.”
