© Reuters NIO (NIO) appoints new independent director
Chinese electric vehicle maker, NIO Inc. (NIO) announced Monday that the company has appointed Professor Yonggang Wen as a new independent director to the board of directors, effective November 13th.
“We are delighted to welcome Professor Wen to the Board of NIO.” Said CEO, William Bin Li.
“We believe that Professor Wen will be an important asset as we continue to innovate and build our proprietary software and hardware technological capabilities. I’m looking forward to working with him to achieve our mission of shaping a joyful lifestyle for our users.”
Professor Yonggang Wen currently holds the position of Full Professor and Chair of the School of Computer Science and Engineering at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
Professor Wen is recognized as a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the world’s largest technical professional organization, and is also honored as a Fellow of the Singapore Academy of Engineering. Additionally, he is distinguished as a member of the Association for Computing Machinery.
Professor Yonggang Wen holds the position of Director at the Centre for Computational Technologies in Finance. Furthermore, as of April 2023, he has taken on the role of Associate Vice President at the President’s Office of Nanyang Technological University.
Shares of NIO are up 0.28% in mid-day trading on Monday.
