Police are asking the public for help following the death of an elderly woman in a London home.
The 71-year-old woman, who has not yet been formerly identified, was found inside the property on Sunday March 1 with significant injuries. Despite the efforts of emergency services, she was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Police have now launched a murder investigation.
The Metropolitan Police say they are “keeping an open mind to pursue all lines of inquiry” and have confirmed no arrests have yet been made in relation to the incident.

A spokesperson for the Met Police said: “Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman in Bath Road, Hounslow. Police were called shortly after 10:00hrs on Sunday, 1 March, to reports of a woman seriously injured at a residential address on Bath Road, Hounslow.
“Officers attended alongside London Ambulance Service paramedics. The 71-year-old woman was found inside the property with significant injuries. Despite the efforts of emergency services, she was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
“A crime scene remains in place, and detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command have begun a full investigation. At this early stage, no arrests have been made.”
Detective Chief Inspector Matthew Denby who is leading the investigation, said: “This is a tragic incident in which a woman has lost her life. We are working to establish the full circumstances of what happened, and we are keeping an open mind to pursue all lines of inquiry.
“We urge anyone who was in the area of Bath Road, who may have seen or heard anything unusual, to come forward. Even small pieces of information can prove vital.”
