Brits are known for needing a strong cup of coffee to kick-start their mornings, and many of us head straight to Costa for our caffeine fix.
But one man has dropped a bombshell that might just change your daily routine. According to TikTok user, rightguysreview, you might want to think twice before ordering a large coffee.
He’s revealed what he believes is the ultimate Costa hack, claiming that splashing out on a large cup could be a waste of money, because the amount of coffee you get can actually fit into a medium cup.
In his viral video, he said: “I got myself a large one and, apparently, a large one actually fits inside a medium cup. Are Costa ripping us off?”

The clip shows him pouring the contents of a large coffee into a medium cup, which it fills to the brim, leaving viewers stunned. He wraps up the experiment by answering is own question, confirming: “Yes, they are.”
The man branded Costa “naughty”, and suggested customers should “always buy a medium”. Since he posted the video, it’s sparked a flurry of comments on social media, with one person recalling: “Read this a couple of years ago and stick to a medium now.”
Another chimed in with a complaint about underfilled cups at other coffee shops too. Meanwhile, a third commenter questioned the logic behind pricing for tea, saying: “I will never understand why they charge more for a large tea. It’s literally just extra water.”
Despite the hype around the video, some pointed out that there’s more to the price than just the size of the cup. Many believe that the larger price tag for their morning caffeine fix is due to them paying for additional shots of espresso, not simply getting quantity of the drink.
One social media user elaborated, saying: “The large has two shots of coffee in as well.” Another reinforced this point, adding: “A large will have more shots.”
A third person also highlighted: “You don’t pay for the water – it’s the coffee shots.”
