A man has been charged with three counts of murder following the deaths of his wife and two daughters in Bedfordshire.
Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma, 45, faces three counts of murder following the deaths of Nothabo Zandile Tshuma, 42, known as Zandile, and daughters Natalie, 15, and Nala, five.
The three were found dead at a house in Carnoustie Drive, Great Denham, near Bedford, after concerns were raised that they had not been seen for several days.
Tshuma was arrested in Kensington, Johannesburg, on Friday, South African police said. Shortly afterwards, the Crown Prosecution Service confirmed it had authorised the murder charges following a review of evidence supplied by Bedfordshire Police.
Emma Davies, Chief Crown Prosecutor, said: “The Crown Prosecution Service has authorised three charges of murder against Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma following the deaths of his wife and two daughters.”
She added: “As criminal proceedings are active, nothing should be reported, commented on or shared online that could prejudice the defendant’s right to a fair trial.”
