Suffolk Police say the deaths are being treated as unexplained and have launched a probe into the incident

A man and woman in their 20s have been found dead in a Premier Inn hotel room, with police launching a probe into the tragic discovery.

The pair were found in one of the rooms at a branch in Ipswich, Suffolk, on Tuesday afternoon. Emergency services swarmed the scene at around 2.30pm, where five police cars, two police vans and an ambulance were stationed outside.

Suffolk Police say they are treating the deaths as unexplained, but believe there are no suspicious circumstances.

In a statement, the force said: “Police were called to an address in Key Street, Ipswich by the ambulance service shortly before 2.30pm on Tuesday. A man and woman were found dead within the address and their families have been notified.

“Enquiries are at an early stage and at present the deaths are being treated as unexplained, however they are currently not believed to be suspicious.”
