A 49-year-old man has died after a skydiving incident at Dunkeswell Airfield in Devon, the same site where two people were killed last year

A man has tragically lost his life following a skydiving accident in Devon, at the very same airfield where two other people were killed last year.

Emergency services rushed to Dunkeswell Airfield in Honiton, Devon, shortly before 1pm on Saturday, February 28. Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed they had been alerted to concerns regarding the welfare of a male skydiver at the site.

A force spokesperson said: “Emergency Services attended the scene, where sadly a 49-year-old man was confirmed deceased. His family have been informed. Scene guards remain in place currently, and enquiries are ongoing into the incident by the relevant agencies.”, reports Devon Live.

Dunkeswell Airfield is the same location where two individuals perished during a tandem skydive on June 13, 2025.

Adam Harrison and Belinda Taylor’s parachutes failed to open during the tandem skydive. Adam, 30, a student and skydive instructor from Bournemouth, and Belinda, 48, from Totnes, Devon, were killed instantly.

The firm behind the jump at the time – Skydive Buzz Ltd – shut down in August, before a new company, Skydive South West – established by former Skydive Buzz employees – announced it would be operating from the same airfield.
