NatWest announced in June that it would be closing a further 53 branches, with four set to close in September. Here’s the full list of branches that will be closing this month

NatWest is shutting more branches this month as part of its massive scheme to axe 106 branches by the end of 2025. The high street lender revealed 53 closures in January 2025, before confirming in June that it would be shuttering a further 53 branches.

This comes as the bank pointed out that consumer banking habits have transformed dramatically in recent years. The shift towards mobile and online services has meant fewer people are opting to bank face-to-face, forcing not just NatWest but numerous other major high street lenders to shut branches that see reduced footfall.

In the September wave of closures, four banks are due to shut within days. Branches in Ely and Oadby in Leicester will be shutting permanently on September 10, whilst closures of a branch in Llanishen, Cardiff and in Edgbaston, Birmingham, will happen on September 11.

When the closures were revealed, NatWest said: “We know it [the closures] can affect those less confident with alternatives we offer. We’ll always work hard to guide and support you through the changes and find the best way to serve you from now on.”

NatWest will provide community pop-up sites in specific locations for up to 12 weeks after the changes to its network, reports the Express. These closures will be affecting millions of NatWest users. According to NatWest Group, the bank serves over 20 million customers, with businesses across retail, commercial and private banking markets.
