A busy commuter motorway has been shut by authorities overnight as they attempt to recover a lorry after an earlier crash.

The M54 in Shropshire is closed for recovery of the lorry eastbound between junction three (Albrighton), and junction two (Wolverhampton) for recovery of a HGV that was involved in a crash around 10am on Monday, December 1.

National Highways Traffic Officers and recovery are on scene. If travelling on the M54 it is advised you allow extra journey time.

A diversion route is in place and delays are expected as the recovery work is completed.
