The M4 is closed in both directions as police are at the scene of an incident. The Welsh stretch of motorway is currently closed in both directions from junction 35 A473 Pencoed to junction 38 Margam.
South Wales Police confirmed they were at the scene of an incident and the road is expected to be closed for some time. A spokesperson for the force said: “We’re at the scene of an incident on the M4 between junction 35 (Pencoed) to junction 37 (Pyle).
“The road is currently closed in both directions between junction 35 (Pencoed) to junction 37 (Pyle).
It is expected to remain closed for some time; please avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible. We’re grateful for your patience.”
Initially the road was closed to junction 37 but has since been extended to junction 38.
