Beat the heat with this on-sale and royal-approved accessory
While some parts of the country are being treated to some wet weather today, the rest of us battle on with the near-30 °C temperatures. Though lovely if you have a day off in a park or on the beach, many of us are struggling with hot and sticky commutes to and from work, where airflow can only be described as non-existent.
However, a new celebrity must-have accessory is trending, and it could be just what we need to see us through the last month of summer. Lulu Guinness’ range of handheld fans requires no batteries at all, and has become the ‘it’ buy for summer after being spotted in the hands of Paloma Faith and Lady Amelia Windsor.
Usually priced at £65, the fun, and aptly named, Heatwave fan is on sale for £45 today, making it an excellent investment if you’re tired of digging into your handbag while you’re on a hot train, only to find your electric fan has no battery. Also priced at £45 is the Deck of Cards version of the fan, if you prefer a darker colourway.
Each is made in Valencia, Spain, and finished with a cute drawstring pouch, so you’re getting plenty of craftsmanship in the hot weather buy.

Singer Paloma Faith looked effortlessly cool (pun intended) with her Heatwave fan. Posing in a garden with the red and white accessory, she matched her outfit to the fan beautifully. In a separate shot posted to Instagram, Lady Amelia Windsor is seen with the Lace Lip Fan, slightly more expensive at £95, but a thing of real beauty.
This isn’t the first Lulu Guinness accessory to go viral this summer. A classic accessory was reintroduced during Chelsea Flower Show week the other month: the Strawberry Bucket Bag. First launched in 2003, it’s been a feature on the arms of many celebs at Wimbledon and Chelsea Flower Show over the years.
