Love Island star Chris Taylor has shared his thoughts on fan-favourites Ciaran and Nicole, as he highlights the ‘key sign’ their relationship won’t work after the show

Love Island star Chris Taylor is convinced that Ciaran Davies and Nicole Samuel won’t work outside the Mallorcan villa, after they were recently voted the most compatible couple by the public.

The Welsh duo have been paired up since day five, and despite having their ups and downs, they decided to make their relationship official during an emotional recoupling. Things continued to flourish between the pair after a recent meet-the-parents episode, where Ciaran’s mum confessed that she “really likes” Nicole.

While Nicole’s mum gushed: “I knew after five minutes that Ciaran was the one for you.” However, All Stars icon Chris has questioned whether their relationship will last long-term. Speaking exclusively to the Mirror, he said: “I think Ciaran and Nicole will do well on the outside and they’ve got the geography element to it.

“But I also think it’s going to be a trial by fire for Ciaran because of Nicole’s worries about his history and being a rugby boy. I think that’s going to come through the relationship a little bit and that could become a bit too much for him and a bit overbearing.”

This comes after Ciaran admitted to sleeping with 120 women and cheating on his ex-girlfriend. Chris continued: “He’s very mature, but at 21 you haven’t fully figured out what you want yet. You need to go through a lot of relationships and a lot of dating to figure that stuff out.

“From what Nicole’s like in the villa, on the outside it could be in theory a lot worse. It could go one of two ways. But if I was a betting man I’d say that they stay together for a bit but I don’t think it would work long-term.”

However, the Barbie star admitted that he’s “really bad at guessing” and they “might work out because they seem to love each other”. Chris also revealed that he would like Ciaran and Nicole to win the £50k prize, as he added: “They’ve stuck together from the beginning and they’ve had the best journey.

“They bicker like a married couple already. They literally bicker over who loves the other one more. I’m literally sleeping in my own bed on my own every night, stop rubbing it in.”

Tensions almost reached boiling point during Tuesday night’s episode, after Ayo Odukoya told Jessica Spencer that his brother believed he was “better suited” to Mimii Ngulube. Barbie star Chris has shared his thoughts on where this controversial viewpoint came from.

He said: “Mimii and Ayo have the exact same energy. They will never be too much for each other and that’s why I think they were so compatible. I think they are so well matched for each other but I think Ayo wants something different.

“I feel like Jess brings a different side out of him that Mimii didn’t and I think he likes that. And sometimes you just like yourself more around different people and it might be one of them.”

Chris is working on a campaign with YouTube to shine a positive spotlight on unusual hobbies, as research has found that 54 percent of Brits participate in these new pastimes alone or with strangers due to fear of judgement. Avid roller skater Chris said: “I’m excited to be part of a campaign that encourages people to embrace their unique interests and quirks.

“With 75 per cent of the nation considering their passions an integral part of their identity, it’s an important message to have pride in your hobbies. As a passionate roller skater, I love seeing niche hobbies on the rise.”

He quipped: “People should be proud of doing things that are abnormal, I’ve always wanted to try trout tickling. Ultimately all humans are an absolute bunch of weirdos who are pretending to be normal around each other.”

YouTube is launching a range of limited edition t-shirts featuring the rising hobbies to encourage Brits to share their unusual passions with pride. The limited edition YouTube t-shirts will be available on the Everpress website from 9.00 AM BST, 25th July 2024.
