A sturdy coolbox is a must-have if you’re planning a camping trip, boat day or road trip, and Louise Thompson thinks she’s found the best one in Yeti’s insulated cooler

If you’re heading off on an autumn camping trip or have a long road trip coming up, a coolbox is essential and Louise Thompson swears by Yeti’s Insulated Cooler. In an Instagram story, Louise shared her family camping trip prep, including how to keep your much-needed snacks cool all day long.

Although she didn’t specifically say which or what size Yeti coolbox she was taking with her, we think she’s using the YETI Tundra 35 Cool Box in blue, £250 here. Yeti says their coolers are built to be ‘virtually indestructible’ and feature an interlocking two-pin hinge system to prevent any breaking. Alongside this, all of their boxes have Bearfoot non-slip feet meaning they will stay put wherever you place them, whether this be in the backseat of your car, your boot or on a boat.

Louise showed that she had stocked her cooler full of some amazing snacks to keep cool throughout the duration of her camping trip, Some customers even boasted that the box kept for their items cool for six or seven days. Aside from food, the coolbox is ideal if you’ve got a party or gathering and need to keep your cans of drink chilled all day long. And if you’re looking to save a few extra pennies, Amazon is offering the Harvest Red colourway for £239.99 here.

With over 80% of reviewers leaving 5 stars, it’s clear to see that Louise is not the only fan of the coolbox. Customers have praised the quality and design of the box, as well as how long food/drinks stay cold. One happy shopper wrote, “They are by far the Rolls Royce of coolers, I know they are expensive but you get what you pay for in this life. Well made, and looks the part. Have had this camping in the boiling hot summer and it’s stayed cold and ice still frozen and feels like you’re opening a cold fridge when you open it up.”

A second reviewer raved, “Very spacious, perfect for cooling through picnics, long drives. Gorgeous colour and extremely well made!”

At £250, the Yeti cooler is pretty steep , so we’ve found a few cheaper versions that won’t break the bank. One of these is Stanley’s Adventure Easy Carry Outdoor Cooler, £110 here. Although Stanley is most known for its viral Stanely Cups, it actually also sells a great range of coolers, lunch boxes, and camping cookware. Their cooler is lightweight but sturdy, keeping ice frozen for over a day, and can hold up to 21 cans.

If you’re looking for a camping cooler that’s not quite as hard and sturdy, a soft cool bag is another great alternative. Amazon’s insulated and waterproof cool bag is far more affordable at £25.99 here and is ideal for picnics or shorter road trips.
