You can get several payments through the Lloyds scheme

Lloyds Bank has outlined the terms and conditions for claiming £50 bonus payments. Customers may want to check out the scheme as you can potentially get multiple payouts.

One account holder contacted the bank after waiting for their third instalment to land in their account. They posted on social media: “Can I get some help with friend referral please? I referred 3 friends who all signed up using my link. Followed all the steps and all now have the current account. I have received the bonus for two of them but not the third.”

The customer was keen to find out how to track the progress of their third referral. Lloyds operates a scheme whereby you can pocket £50 for introducing a friend to the bank.

State Pensioners to face major tax change

To take advantage of this, you’ll need an eligible current account – any account except an Under 19’s Account, Smart Start or Student Account qualifies. Simply log into the mobile app and tap ‘Share link with a friend’.

Your friend then has a 30-day window to join Lloyds and open a current account by clicking the link you’ve sent them. Once completed, both you and your friend will each receive a £50 bonus.

There’s no limit on the number of people you can refer, however the maximum amount of bonuses you can pocket is capped at £250 per calendar year — the equivalent of five successful referrals. Addressing the customer enquiry, Lloyds said: “If the third friend used your link correctly and is a brand‐new Lloyds customer, the bonus should still come.

“If 30 working days have already passed, just message Lloyds through the in‐app chat or contact support, so they can check it for you.” Another customer recently approached Lloyds Bank regarding a previous bonus scheme.

Other bonus payments from Lloyds Bank

This involved a £250 switch offer the group was providing if you moved to a Club Lloyds account. The cut-off date to secure the bonus was February 3, as you had to open the account and apply for your switch by this date.

However, some payments may not have been issued yet, as the sum will be transferred up to 40 days after you fulfilled all the requirements. One person asked: “I did a current account switch at the end of January. Your offer was for £250 for switching.

“When would I receive this for completing my switch?” They requested the bank clarify exactly what the qualifying criteria were. In response, Lloyds said: “To get the switch incentive you would have needed to have another account held elsewhere with three active direct debits to switch and open a new Club Lloyds account and haven’t received a switching offer since 1 January 2023.”
