Armed police blocked off a street in Liverpool city centre yesterday evening after officers were called to threats were made against the occupants of a property.
Merseyside Police closed Upper Parliament Street, with officers seen going in and out of the Grade-II listed building Falkner Terrace.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Officers attended the scene and a man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and taken into custody.No weapon has been located and enquiries remain ongoing.”
The road was temporarily closed but has since been reopened.
