Liam Gallagher is bringing back the Berghaus Trango jacket as he fronts a new Icons campaign for the outdoors brand, and you can still shop all three different jacket styles

Oasis are set to take the nation by storm again next year with their sell out tour, and in honour of their return to the stage, Liam Gallagher has brought back one of his most iconic stage looks – the Berghaus jacket. Originally known as one of the must-have jackets for mountain rescue, and legendary British mountaineer Sir Chris Bonington (who features in the new Berghaus Icons campaign alongside Liam) wore one when he summited Everest 40 years ago, as did Alan Hinkes OBE, the first British mountaineer to summit all of the world’s mountains over 8000 metres high.

However in 1997, Liam took the brand in a new fashion direction when he wore one on stage in Oslo, on night one of Oasis’ European leg of the Be Here Now tour back. And now, with the launch of the new Icons campaign, Berghaus and Liam have teamed up once again to bring the must-have jacket back to fashion’s forefront ready for Oasis’ brand new tour.

Oasis have confirmed a reunion tour is taking place in 2025 across the UK. With 14 dates announced so far, Liam and Noel Gallagher will return to stages together for the first time in 16 years. Tickets are being released on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 9am and will be available from Ticketmaster here. They will also be on sale at See Tickets.

For the campaign, Liam was photographer wearing one of the brand’s most instantly identifiable and iconic jackets, the Berghaus Trango, and spoke about turning the jacket into a fashion statement back in the late 90s.

He said: “My first encounter with Berghaus was through my brother Noel. He purchased a green one in the late 80s and I was always pinching it off him. They were all the rage and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on one of my own. I thought to myself ‘when I’m rich and famous I’m getting myself one.’ I finally did that and I’ve still got it to this day. To be asked to work with them on their comeback means a lot.”

In a bid to reinstate its position as one of the top British streetwear brands, Berghaus launched a 14 piece collection back in August in collaboration with Palace Skateboards. The new collection features re-works of some of its staple pieces, including the Trango, £400, Merapeak, £320, and Lumley, £275, jackets, and good news for fans – you can still snap up all three.

Each of the iconic jackets come in several different colours, and are not only a top choice style-wise – they’re also perfect for the autumn weather. Each one is waterproof, with both the Trango and Merapeak made from Gore-tex material, which keeps you completely dry even in torrential downpours and lasts forever.

The Lumley jacket is made from Hydrodown, which not only keeps you dry but is also extra warm. All three feature snap pockets and a hood, with adjustable points to help get the perfect fit and keep you comfortable and cosy.

Liam has also recently been spotted in another top notch waterproof, wearing the Snow Peak Indigo C/N Parka, £659, and a pair of Sealskinz Amner Waterproof All Weather Ultra Grip Gloves, £45, to walk his dog back in September.
