This spring is all about the pussybow blouse, and Kate Middleton just cemented it as the must-have look for the season with burgundy version from Claudia Winkleman’s favourite brand
As we head into spring, all eyes are on the new season’s upcoming fashion trends, and one unexpected style we’ll be seeing everywhere is the pussybow blouse. Whilst it’s long been a firm favourite in officewear, this season is all about reinventing it as a more modern, everyday piece to keep in your wardrobe.
And in case you needed any more confirmation, Kate Middleton just showed exactly how easy they are to style, as she stepped out in a burgundy version that’s suspected to be from Me + Em. The brand has become a common staple in her outfits over recent years, and she’s not alone in being a fan. Claudia Winkleman is another stylish fan of Me + Em, having worn several of their pieces both on and off screen on The Traitors.

Kate Garraway’s comfortable and flattering knit midi dress has a huge £50 off
Although Princess Kate ’s exact version is no longer on the Me + Em website, you can snap up several similar styles – and they’re on sale. The 100% silk Straight Blouse and Tie is currently £175 down from £250 and comes in both burnt orange and cream, with an adjustable tie neck detail that you can fasten into a pussybow like Kate’s.
Alternatively you could shop the Tie Neck Blouse which is also £175 down from £250 and made from pure silk. This comes in a light champagne colour, and allows you to fasten the neck detail like a regular tie (another spring trend), or as a bow if you’d prefer.
For her day in Wales ahead of the feast day for St. David, the Princess of Wales wore a head-to-toe burgundy outfit, which included the stylish pussybow blouse, a pleated maxi skirt and a pair of her favourite Gianvito Rossi heeled leather boots in the same deep red shade. She completed the look with one of her favourite pieces to re-wear; her Alexander MCQueen coat dress that she’s worn on several occasions since 2024.
We’ve long been a fan of the way Princess Kate mixes both high street and high end pieces, and her monochromatic burgundy look is the perfect example of how to effortlessly combine the two. She’s also an expert at picking trending pieces – like her pussybow blouse – and combining them with her wardrobe in a way that feels classic and timeless.
If you want to copy Kate’s look on a little bit more of a budget, the high street is really delivering right now. Some of our favourite lookalike pieces include Topshop’s Satin Scarf Blouse In Burgundy (£38), Mango’s brand new-in Long-Sleeve Blouse With A Scarf Collar (£35.99) and the Colour Block Fluid Tencel Woven Tie Neck Blouse from Karen Millen, which is £89 but the code KMEXTRA25 currently saves you 25%.
