Away from film and television, broadcaster Jonathan Ross, 63, is a proud husband and father-of-three, and has been married to his other half for more than 30 years

When Jonathan Ross isn’t hosting talk shows or working in the studio, he’s spending time at home with his wife and kids.

The film and television broadcaster, 63, has spent decades in showbusiness since he first made his breakthrough presenting The Last Resort with Jonathan Ross in the ’80s. He’s gone on to host Comic Relief, the British Comedy Awards and recently served as a judge on The Masked Singer.

Away from TV, Jonathan is a family man and has spoken out many times about his pride and adoration of his loved ones. He has been married to screenwriter Jane Goldman, 51, for over 30 years and the couple tied the knot when she was just 18 years old.

They first met when Jane was working as a junior showbiz journalist, and Jonathan has admitted that he was more of a father figure to her when they began dating, as he was more than 10 years her senior. “When we first got together, she was very young… I wasn’t that old but I was considerably older and she came straight from home with her parents,” he said on Loose Women in 2015. “And I think the relationship carried on, I was sort of a parent figure as well as a husband.”

Despite the age gap – and a brief split 10 years into their marriage – the couple is still going strong, and Jane has a hugely successful career of her own. The screenwriter and producer has co-written the screenplays for the Kingsman films, Kick-Ass, The Woman in Black and more recently, penned the script for the live-action remake of Disney’s A Little Mermaid, which raked in more than $560 million (£440 million) worldwide.

Jonathan and Jane are proud parents of three children – Betty Kitten, Harvey Kirby and Honey Kinney. Their youngest daughter Honey, 27, is a model and body positivity activist, and has appeared alongside her famous dad on Channel 4’s Celebrity Gogglebox. She previously spoke about her self-confidence issues, and recalled her mum and dad encouraging her to diet when she said she was unhappy with her body.

“They saw me, a teenage girl, coming home saying, ‘I hate my body’. They tried to give me solutions to a problem I brought to them, which was to lose weight. They presented me with diets and diets, as we know, don’t work and are absolutely toxic,” she said during an appearance on Loose Women. “My advice to parents is keep that as far away from your children as possible, if you want them to have a good relationship with food and their bodies growing up do not shame them.”

The couple’s middle child is Harvey Kirby, 29, who has managed to stay out of the limelight despite having a TV and radio icon for a father. However, he did appear alongside Jonathan and sister Honey on Celebrity Gogglebox, and fans were stunned to see The Masked Singer judge’s handsome son.

Betty Kitten, 32, is Jonathan and Jane’s oldest child, and the social media influencer has been vocal about her sexuality and chronic health issues over the years. She was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2021, and now uses an electric wheelchair as she struggles with mobility, which is a symptom of the chronic condition.

Fibromyalgia causes severe muscle pain and tenderness, and other symptoms include fatigue, sleep problems, headaches, low mood and difficulty remembering things. Betty was also diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome and postural tachycardia syndrome (POTS), which causes an abnormal increase in the heart rate after sitting or standing.

Jonathan has spoken of his pride over Betty’s resilience and determination over the last few years, and he revealed she had also contracted Covid at the beginning of the global pandemic in 2020. “It’s been a tough couple of years for her in particular, but she is getting slowly better,” he candidly shared.
