Former Little Mix star Jade Thirlwall performed at tonight’s BRIT Awards, and her hairstylist used this popular hair tool to create her loose, tousled waves

Tonight saw the 2025 BRIT Awards take place, with former Little Mix star Jade Thirlwall not only performing but also winning the awards for Best Pop Act.

The star looked striking both on the red carpet and on stage in dramatic wedding-style dresses, paired with simple make-up and her long hair styled in loose waves. And when she posted about her glam prep ahead of the show, we caught a glimpse of the tool used to create this wearable look.

Posting to Instagram stories earlier in the day, Jade – who simply goes by her first name now – posted a selfie while her go-to hairstylist Aaron Carlo styled her hair, using what we think is the popular Shark FlexStyle Hair Drying System in the black and rose gold colourway. Usually priced at £269.99, it’s now currently reduced to £242.99.

The FlexStyle – which has been compared to the popular Dyson Airwrap – works as a hairdryer and also has up to 9 different styling heads, enabling you to create a number of different styles.

The Shark Flexstyle has earned hundreds of five-star reviews from beauty fans. One person raved: “Fantastic hair styler/dryer, easy to use and works really fast, my hair feels so good, and it’s made styling in the mornings so easy.”

A second happy customer added: “Better than a Dyson. I bought a Dyson a few years ago never really liked it just used it as a hair dryer. I read about the shark thought the brush looked good plus the diffuser. I can’t believe how much better it is than the Dyson.”

While a third also praised the hair gadget for being a cheaper alternative to Dyson. In a glowing review, the shopper said: “Works very well. Very happy with everything. Great value for money. Would definitely recommend over Dyson. Same product but better price.”

However, not all customers were impressed, with one saying: “The dryer and brushes are good, and the air wrap creates amazing curls, but they only lasted 20 minutes on my hair. I can buy a cheaper brush dryer that does the same job without risking hair burns for curls that don’t last.”

When beauty writer Bethan Shufflebotham tested out the device, she found it heavier than the Dyson and the buttons to be in a slightly awkward position in comparison to the AirWrap. She said “It performed well and definitely does what it says it will, drying hair quickly and curling in a very similar way to the Dyson, though I did find that my curls didn’t last quite as well.”
