Worth £695 but yours for half that price, Astrid and Miyu’s luxury jewellery advent calendar for 2024 features dainty favourites like an opal layering necklace and pearl huggies, as well as a £50 voucher

Unboxing advent calendars is definitely one of the fun aspects of my job as a fashion and beauty editor, but I do have to admit, after a decade of doing so, advents have lost a bit of their sparkle to me. Perhaps my expectation is higher now that the cost of them has soared through the roof, or maybe I’ve just seen most of the contents a hundred times, but there are few that genuinely make me think, “Yes, I’d absolutely spend my own money on this”.

I make a giant exception for Astrid and Miyu’s 12-Day Jewellery Calendar, which is so gorgeous that I audibly said, ‘Wow,’ when I opened it.

It’s priced at £345 but offers a hefty £695 value, meaning you’re saving nearly 50% while receiving pieces that look as good layered as they do solo. Inside the calendar, each drawer reveals a new, beautifully crafted jewellery item. Plus, with a £50 gift voucher tucked in, it’s a wonderful surprise to find a little extra to spend on future favourites. If that wasn’t enough, if you shop the advent from Astrid and Miyu’s website, the brand is also currently a promotion whereby they’ll gif you a free pair of earrings worth £75 when you’re spending over £100.

Zoe says

As I’ve said, I’m thrilled by this advent calendar. If I opened it every morning for 12 days in December, as intended, I just know I’d be excited to get out of bed every morning. From the packaging to the beautiful jewellery, each day’s reveal felt special, like unwrapping a tiny treasure thoughtfully designed. Every item adds a versatile and trendy touch, perfect for layering or standing out on its own.

I like the added touch of being able to pick from the plated gold or silver colourway, meaning there was nothing inside that I wouldn’t wear (I never wear silver).

The standout for me was definitely the opal pieces—they have a soft shimmer that makes them easy to dress up or down, depending on the occasion. I wore some of the more delicate studs and huggies daily, and the bolder items, like the pavé hoops, became my go-to for evening wear.

I was surprised when I came across the gift coin, letting me continue the fun by picking out something else I had my eye on. Considering I already felt the value of the calendar was great without the £50 voucher (in the form of the coin), I was genuinely surprised by it.

My final thoughts? It’s the perfect advent calendar for anyone wanting to treat themselves to jewellery they’ll wear and love year-round. You can shop it for £345 in gold or silver now while stock lasts.
