BBC Interior Design Masters winner Lia Gold just dropped her Next Home collection, and it’s as joyously Mediterranean as you’d expect

If you were keeping up to date with this year’s BBC Interior Design Masters, you’ll know that last week, aspiring designer Lia Gold was crowned the winner of the show, winning a coveted contract to design a homeware collection with Next. She beat hopeful xxx during the final Longlead design task, largely thanks to her incredible use of colour and pattern.

Now, Lia is bringing her signature Mediterranean-meets-family-hosting flair to the high street with her Next collection, which has just dropped in stores and online with prices starting from a very reasonable £16.

The use of green, red and blue throughout ties the whole collection together, making it easier to dip your toe into bolder interiors. And with pieces ranging from statement accessories to accent chairs, there’s really something for everyone and every room.

These are the six pieces I’ve spotted in the range that have made me seriously consider redecorating my whole flat to give it a more Lia feel…

Malfadine Stripe Ruffle 100% Cotton Duvet Set

Shop it from £50

I’ve secretly worn M&S’ new £22 luxury perfumes for weeks– one beat my Kayali favourite

My top pick, the wide blue stripes give this bedding a classic, coastal feel, but it’s the finishing touches that make it special. The oversized ruffle trim brings a sense of drama around the edges, and the contrast red piping adds a welcome hit of colour. Then there’s the embroidered Italian slogan, a small detail that nods to Lia’s heritage.

Green Ciao Slogan Door Mat

Shop it from £16

The scalloped silhouette gives this doormat a more fun feel than traditional rectangular styles, and the Ciao! print adds a playful nod to the Mediterranean aesthetic that continues to dominate interior trends. It’s an easy way to make an entrance feel a little more playful.

Green Remi Mafaldine Stripe Chair

Shop it for £249

The curved silhouette and generously cushioned seat give this accent chair a very inviting feel, but it’s the bold upholstery choice (yes, a phrase I did learn from the show!) that makes it a true statement piece. Ideal for an empty corner or reading nook, it injects personality into a room without needing much else around it.

Blue Gingham Scallop Wool Tufted Rug

Shop it from £90

The oversized ric-rac trim on this is something I haven’t seen before in a rug, adding a playful touch that feels very Lia. Combined with the bold colour palette and graphic pattern, it has a personality that can lift a neutral sofa or armchair without needing a complete room overhaul.

Blue/White Stripe Ceramic Table Lamp

Shop it for £80

This lamp proves functional lighting doesn’t have to be boring. The sculptural base and playful use of colour make it feel more like a decorative object than a practical necessity, giving an easy way to introduce Lia’s signature joyful aesthetic without spending on larger furniture pieces.

Blue/White Striped Single Pendant Ceiling Light

Shop it for £99

The bold striped shade does all the talking here, turning what could have been a standard light into a focal point in its own right. I love how the combination of colour and shape fits with the rest of the collection, making it an easy way to add character to a dining table when it’s hung above one.

Shopping around for other homeware collections to brighten your home this summer? Dunelm’s Bella Utopia Occasional Armchair typically retails for £159 at Dunelm, but shoppers can now buy it for £127.20. The sumptuous velvet chair is made to create an ‘inviting atmosphere’ throughout your living space, with several buyers claiming it earns them ‘many compliments’.
