Skincare fans can bag premium products for less with this limited-edition beauty secret

Beauty boxes have become one of the easiest ways to refresh skincare and makeup collections without spending a fortune. And I’ve spotted a new beauty bundle that’s particularly impressive for anyone looking to stock up for summer.

The OK! Getaway Edit is worth more than £175 but is available for £39.99, meaning shoppers can save over £135. The edit includes 10 holiday-inspired beauty and wellness products, with the standout being Rodial Dragon’s Blood SPF 15 Velvet Cream, which carries a £65 price tag on its own – making it worth considerably more than the entire beauty box.

Alongside the luxury SPF, shoppers will also receive six more full-sized products from brands including Hello Sunday, The Beauty Crop and Perfectil. Plus, there’s a handful of travel-friendly essentials perfect for throwing into a suitcase.

Naturally then, when the box landed on my desk, I couldn’t wait to dive in and see whether it lived up to its value – especially as I’m a diehard Rodial fan. Let’s see how I found it.

First impressions of The Getaway Edit

My immediate reaction was pure excitement. I’m a huge Rodial fan, but it’s one of those brands I admire from afar because the price tags can be eye-watering. My favourite Vit C Brightening Cleansing Pads, for example, cost around £49, making them an occasional treat rather than an everyday purchase.

So, discovering not one but two Rodial products inside the OK! box felt like a real win. The hero product is undoubtedly the Dragon’s Blood SPF 15 Velvet Cream, part of the brand’s bestselling Dragon’s Blood range, which is apparently loved by celebrities including Lady Gaga and Kate Middleton.

I expected an ultra-lightweight formula, but it’s actually a little richer than anticipated. Thankfully, it absorbs quickly without leaving an obvious white cast, leaving skin feeling hydrated, refreshed, and comfortably protected. The subtle fragrance is another bonus, with soft floral notes balanced by a slightly fruity finish that feels luxurious without being overpowering.

My only criticism is the SPF rating itself. At SPF15, it’s lower than I would normally reach for, particularly in summer, when I prefer higher protection for my fair skin. Paula’s Choice Calm SPF 30 (£39, Sephora) remains my everyday favourite for that reason, but I’d happily wear the Rodial formula on lower-UV days or layer it into my morning routine.

The second Rodial product is the Blush Drops in Frosted Pink, worth an impressive £39 by themselves – almost the same price as the entire beauty box. I’ve actually been using the Apricot version for quite a while now and absolutely love it.

I only need one or two drops to create a healthy glow, so the bottle lasts for months, helping justify the luxury price tag. The pink shade delivers the same luminous finish, giving skin a subtle shimmer that’s perfect for summer makeup or enhancing a fresh fake tan.

My only small warning comes from experience: my Apricot bottle eventually started leaking, so it’s worth storing upright or in a leakproof bag when travelling. Otherwise, Rodial also has a Cream Blush (£39) that is pretty much the same as the liquid iteration, just without the shimmer and potential for leakage.

More summer-ready favourites

Outside of Rodial, one of my surprise favourites was Hello Sunday’s The One For Your Hands SPF30 Hand Cream. Hands are probably the area I forget to reapply sunscreen most often after washing them, so having a handbag-friendly SPF specifically for them is surprisingly useful. The formula feels lightweight rather than greasy and smells exactly like a summer holiday, making topping up protection feel far less like a chore.

Another inclusion is grüum’s Pulse Point Roller Ball, which initially felt like a slightly random addition to a getaway-themed edit. That said, this is actually my second rollerball from the brand, and I’ve become a fan of using it before bed thanks to its calming lavender-and-chamomile blend. The cooling metal applicator feels lovely against the skin too, particularly after a long day.

I was also pleasantly surprised by The Beauty Crop’s Melting Lip Balm in Popping Peony. The juicy pink shade adds just enough colour without becoming overly sticky, while leaving lips feeling soft and hydrated throughout the day. I did find myself reapplying it every few hours, but it’s compact enough to fit in any handbag or beach tote.

The travel-sized shampoo and conditioner have deliberately remained unopened for now, simply because I’m saving them for my holiday in August. In many ways, that’s exactly their purpose – they’re convenient additions that make packing beauty routines that little bit easier.

There’s also a mini Commodity fragrance featuring notes of strawberry, rhubarb and raspberry pulp. While I wouldn’t say the scent lasted all day, it’s a lovely fruity fragrance for popping into your handbag for quick refreshes while out and about.

Meanwhile, the Perfectil Skin supplements include 56 tablets designed to support healthy-looking skin, hair and nails, giving shoppers almost two months’ supply that can easily be slipped into hand luggage.

Finally, the Isoclean Hypochlorous Spray might be one of the most practical additions in the box. Designed to soothe irritation and support the skin barrier, I can already see myself reaching for it after long days in the sun or to calm any unexpected holiday skin flare-ups while keeping my complexion feeling refreshed and hydrated.

Overall verdict: The Getaway Edit

Beauty boxes are always a fun way to discover new skincare and makeup without splashing out on full-price products, but the OK! Getaway Edit stands out for its value. Packed with more than £175 worth of beauty buys for just £39.99, the savings are hard to ignore – especially when the £65 Rodial Dragon’s Blood SPF costs more than the entire box.

Not every product will become a daily staple, but the mix of luxury skincare, makeup and travel-friendly essentials feels genuinely useful rather than padded with fillers. The Rodial products are the clear highlights, while the Hello Sunday hand SPF and Beauty Crop lip balm have secured a permanent spot in my handbag.

Overall, it’s one of the best-value beauty edits I’ve seen this season, offering an affordable way to try several premium beauty brands at once.
