The pass offers unlimited access to more than 20 iconic British attractions, giving families the chance to save hundreds as school holidays approach

Families and thrill-seekers have days left to save on annual access to some of the UK’s most popular attractions with the Merlin Annual Pass Summer Sale. The limited-time deal, which runs until June 28, offers £50 off both Gold and Platinum Merlin Annual Passes, alongside discounts on monthly membership options.

The offer covers more than 20 attractions including Alton Towers Resort, Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventures Resort, LEGOLAND Windsor Resort and the London Eye. It comes as many families begin planning summer days out, with Merlin Entertainments also marking a landmark year that includes the 30th anniversary of LEGOLAND Windsor Resort and the launch of new attractions across its parks.

Under the promotion, the Gold Pass has been reduced from £239 to £189, while the Platinum Pass falls from £299 to £249. Monthly membership prices have also been cut, with Gold Membership reduced from £19.99 to £16.99 per month and Platinum Membership from £24.99 to £20.99 per month.

The pass is designed to offer flexible access throughout the year. If you use it often, it works out very cheap per visit — around 52p a day for the Gold Pass based on the discounted price.

Standard advance tickets for major UK theme parks typically range from around £35 to £70 per person depending on the date and demand. On-the-door prices are usually higher, particularly during weekends and school holidays.

Fun loving families can save on entry to 20 attractions with prices discounted until June, 28.

For a family of four, a single visit to a major park can therefore cost roughly £140 to £280 or more depending on timing. Two or three visits over a year can quickly exceed the cost of a Merlin annual pass.

Merlin says the pass is designed to offer better value for families planning multiple trips across the year, allowing unlimited visits rather than one-off entry tickets. The timing of the sale coincides with several major developments across Merlin’s attractions portfolio. At Chessington World of Adventures Resort, visitors can experience the new World of PAW Patrol, while Alton Towers Resort has introduced Bluey the Ride: Here Come The Grannies! Elsewhere, LEGOLAND Windsor Resort is also celebrating its 30th birthday with seasonal events.

In addition to entry, Gold Pass holders receive benefits including free parking and 20% off food, drink and retail purchases. Platinum Pass holders receive further perks, including Fastrack access, Bring a Friend tickets, mini golf and up to 15% off Merlin Holiday Club short breaks.

Families looking for alternatives this summer are also might also enjoy a cinema scheme which offer unlimited or discounted films. Both Odeon Limitless and Cineworld Unlimited can be used for low-cost indoor entertainment during the school holidays when the weather is unpredictable.

Other popular options include annual memberships to organisations such as the National Trust and English Heritage, which provide access to historic sites, gardens and outdoor spaces across the UK. Many families are combining these with free days out at beaches, parks and nature reserves to stretch their summer budgets further.

Meanwhile, fun lovers who have already invested in a Merlin Pass have been sharing their thoughts on Trustpilot. One family said: “So many attractions to explore! So far we’ve used our Merlin Pass at Alton Towers for 2 days, Thorpe Park for 2 days, York Dungeons, London Dungeons, Sealife in London, the London Eye, Shrek’s Adventure, Madame Tussauds and are planning a trip to Edinburgh Dungeons! Having a Merlin Pass opens your horizons to what is out there and we have enjoyed every attraction, such amazing value for money.”

Another said it was ‘Really easy to book from start to finish,’ adding: “We’ve only had our passes for a couple of months and already used them to visit all the London attractions and three different Sea Life Centres. It’s paid for itself already!”

A third simply said: “Great value passes for what is included. Provides us with so many family days out.”

Naturally, some users had concerns however, with one noting: “Paid for Merlin gold passes and still had to pre book visits to Alton Towers and on more than one occasion there was no availability online via the portal.”

However, most families have found plenty of benefits in being Merlin Pass holders with another delighted visitors explaining: “It has been so easy to use, the booking system is really easy to navigate. On a trip to London recently for half term we visited London Eye (twice, my kids loved it) London Dungeons, Aquarium, Shrek Adventure and Madame Tussauds. All included in the pass, all brilliant! In the summer we are planning on doing Chessington again and Legoland and Alton Towers. What an amazing cost saving! Highly recommend.”

On the Merlin website, another shopper said: “We get Annual Passes every year – we love spending quality time as a family at one of the brilliant attractions. There are so many attractions, it doesn’t matter what the weather is doing. It has been so much fun introducing the kids to new rides and attractions every year – I couldn’t imagine entertaining them without a Merlin Annual Pass.”
