Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor had a packed agenda during the week long trip he claimed was solely used to break links with Epstein – with emails showing the pair’s plans

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor embarked on a leaving tour with Jeffrey Epstein that involved dinners, a 4am party and an invitation to a “Boom Boom Room” when he claimed he was being “honourable” and breaking links with the paedophile.

The then Duke of York travelled to New York in December 2010 “with the sole purpose” of ending his friendship with sex trafficker pal Epstein, he said in a now infamous Newsnight interview, in a trip that he claimed had involved no socialising. While he admitted to having stayed with the disgraced financier, he said he had believed it was “honourable”, telling Emily Maitlis: “I felt it was the honourable and right thing to do.”

Andrew then said his judgement “was probably coloured by my tendency to be too honourable” – but new emails included in the Epstein files suggest he was guided not by these tendencies, but by a desire to keep the party going. Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing in relation to sex claims connected to Epstein.

New emails included in the US Department of Justice’s now 3.5 million-strong document tranche, the Telegraph reports, show that Andrew partied with Epstein and other elites during the week-long stay at his New York home. His stay at the mansion, the documents suggest, was months in the making, having been initially conceived in April 2010.

At the time, Epstein was under house arrest after his stint in jail for a child sexual offence, with Andrew telling him in one email dated April 10 that he thought he should visit New York “at some stage soon”.

Dates for the visit were later fixed for November 29 to December 7, and Epstein went about arranging the occasion via his then-publicist Peggy Siegal. Those arrangements included attempts to book in a spa session and discussions about bringing swimwear for a potential trip south.

Andrew declared: “Really looking forward to seeing you and spending some time with you after so long. Some interesting things to discuss and plot….”

After arriving via JFK airport and being furnished with a room on the fourth floor of Epstein’s mansion, Andrew and the paedophile appeared set for a night of partying, with the two having secured invitations to the highbrow Boom Boom Room. However, it is unclear as to whether they went.

On December 1, the documents show the two men had an 8.30am breakfast with American businessman Andrew Farkas, followed by a group lunch at Bill’s Burgers before they were offered tickets to a Ryan Gosling film premier.

The next evening, Epstein held his friend an exclusive dinner partu attended by a selection of high-profile figures like Woody Allen, political strategist George Stephanopoulos, and noted journalist Katie Couric. While Andrew and a host of key figures are named in the documents, it is important to note that this does not indicate they were involved in any wrongdoing.

At the time, it was feared that Andrew’s association with film director Allen, then swept up in controversy surrounding his marriage to Soon-Yi Previn, the adopted daughter of his ex-wife Mia Farrow, could damage his reputation.

By December 3, Andrew and Epstein were making dinner plans with Brit supermodel Naomi Campbell and her then-boyfriend Vladislav Doronin. Emails suggest the group went out on the evening of December 4 and partied into the early morning, with Epstein sent an email from an unknown sender pleading “ask Andrew to call me” at 1.36am on December 5.

The two, fresh from their partying, were photographed together in a now infamous photo walking in Central Park later that morning. Andrew was due to return to the UK two days later on December 7, but after another early morning party.

A female associate of Epstein’s sent an email to his assistant at 4.03am that day saying “everyone” was “still at 71st”, adding: “P Andrew is still here leaving tomorrow.”
