Said to be the ‘most highly requested item’ fans have been asking for ‘since the dawn of TALA-time’, the influencer-founded brand has answered demand with the ultimate blazer for year-round styling

While TALA is a brand best known for its incredibly flattering athleisure wear, when their viral bomber jacket became an immediate sell-out last autumn, it proved that customers were craving more than pilates-ready pieces from the influencer-founded brand. So when they announced they’d release new outerwear and tailoring styles, shoppers and fashion editors were excitedly buzzing.

Said to be the ‘most highly requested item’ fans have been asking for ‘since the dawn of TALA-time’, the brand finally launched their Everyday Tailoring Multiway Oversized Blazer in September, and in my opinion, it’s giving Molly-Mae Hague’s ‘Maebe’ brand a run for its money.

One thing that Grace Beverley’s TALA brand does extremely well is consider every detail, and that attention is clear in their final products. As a result, they’ve crafted quite possibly, the most perfect oversized blazer that will quickly become one of your hardest working pieces.

I’ve reviewed dozens of beauty advent calendars and Sephora’s is one of the best money can buy

The blazer has been created in three easy-to-wear shades from the TALA colour palette – black, grey and for something a little more playful, pistachio . It comes in sizes XS to XL, boasting an oversized fit, so it’s well worth checking out the size guide to ensure you get your perfect size. As a size 10, I could have opted for the small or medium, but as I wanted the option to layer over a hoodie, opted for the medium.

When the blazer arrived, the first thing that was immediately apparent was the quality. As TALA is a brand that is big on sustainability, the piece is made from 63% Recycled Polyester, which is incredibly soft to the touch and feels premium . The jacket has a really nice medium weight that doesn’t feel too flimsy or, conversely, too heavy either, hanging just right with a boxy silhouette and smart TALA branded lining. The lining feels like an extra special touch that makes it feel as though the brand really has considered every possible way to make this a really elevated piece.

I’m such a fan of the shoulder pads, which give a structured feel to the blazer, making it ideal for the office. But equally, the piece can be thrown over more casual outfits for an off-duty vibe. Already I’ve paired it with a black skort and top with chunky boots for a chic autumnal look, as well as jeans, a t-shirt and trainers, with the blazer instantly levelling up the basic look.

Another feature I love is the split vent at the back, which allows the blazer to move more freely and have a more flattering fit. And as this is traditionally seen in men’s tailoring, it gives it that ‘boyfriend’ style fit that’s bang on trend. But the most impressive addition to this blazer? The hidden internal button and tab, as it lets you achieve that cool, rolled-up sleeve look. No more constant adjusting or bobbles cutting off your circulation, as this innovative detail means your sleeves will stay perfectly in place, even when you’re on the move.

Moreover, the blazer has been designed with four pockets – three external and one internal – providing ample space for keys, phones, lipsticks and bank cards. These do, however, need the stitches unpicking when you first get them, but it does only take a second (though is slightly annoying upon first wear if you do forget, like I did).

So, we’ve finally discovered a women’s blazer that doesn’t make you sacrifice practicality for style, but at what cost? The blazer comes in at £139, which certainly isn’t the cheapest, however, given its versatility, durability and luxurious feel, this investment is one that will likely pay off in the long run. The quality is evident in the blazer’s design details, from the split cuffs to the branded lining, and the fact it goes with almost any outfit means its cost per wear will be pennies in no time.

Another potential downside for shoppers is that, like with many premium wardrobe staples, the TALA blazer is dry clean only, which isn’t ideal for those who prefer a low-maintenance wardrobe. However, if well looked after, this blazer is one that will last for years to come, so is worth looking after properly.

With its versatile, oversized fit, multiple pockets, super soft feel and hidden sleeve-gathering detail, TALA has absolutely nailed it with this launch. It’s incredibly difficult to come across such quality tailoring on the high street, but TALA really has listened to their customers and answered the demand for chic, sustainable outerwear with what could easily be considered as the perfect blazer.

Ideal for layering over chunky knits or hoodies without feeling bulky and just as dreamy over satin slip dresses as party season approaches, this blazer does it all . It has that really effortless just-threw-this-on look that the likes of Frankie Bridge and Rochelle Humes are renowned for, and I don’t think it’ll be long before you see your favourite celebs sporting it on their Instagram stories.

The TALA blazer also happens to be a great alternative to the sold-out ‘ultimate blazer’ from Molly-Mae’s brand, Maebe . It was the hero piece from the Love Islander’s first fashion launch, but sold out within 24 minutes and is yet to be restocked. The blazer cost £140, made from 63 per cent polyester, 19 per cent viscose and 18 per cent acrylic, unlike TALA’s more sustainable recycled fabric blend.

Though, if you are after a cheaper option, this H&M alternative is a steal that is sure to suit every wallet. This Single-breasted blazer is perfect for 90s-inspired outfits, be it for trips into the office or coffee dates over the weekend and can seamlessly blend with any attire to offer chic style. Retailing for the lower price of £38, this dark grey wonder comes in sizes XS to XXL, making it an ideal pick for anyone seeking Molly-Mae’s timelessly cool style, without blowing the bank.
