Beauty writer Eve Rowlands has been on the lookout for a new scent after wearing Floral Street Peony Wonderland to death – and she thinks she’s found her new favourite in Marc Jacobs’ latest release

When I like a perfume, I will wear it to death. Regardless of whether I’m leaving the house for a quick coffee stop, a romantic dinner out or whether it’s winter or summer; I’ll have a daily spritz for good measure. And for 2025, I’ve discovered a scent that may cause me to put my beloved (and almost empty) Floral Street Peony Wonderland on a short hiatus – the new Marc Jacobs’ limited edition MJ Daisy Glow Eau So Fresh.

Available at Lookfantastic, Debenhams and The Perfume Shop for £79, the eau de toilette is a delightful combination of light, fresh florals and subtle fruitiness – and has the perfect balance of the two. I.e. isn’t sickly sweet nor eye-wateringly floral. Although I will say the florals hit you immediately – for the better.

After the first spritz fresh out of the bottle, which has subtle hints of the original Daisy at first with new, refreshing bursts of pear and raspberry, it immediately had the seal of approval from my husband who said the scent was ‘so nice’ – high praise indeed. A treat for both yours and your partner’s senses, it’s a great pressie for the upcoming Valentine’s Day celebration…

Indeed just one spray of the newly launched stuff smelt divine and left not just me with a lovely fragrant finish (if I may say so myself) but it filled the room in which you spray it gorgeously, sending out notes of fresh pear, grapefruit, raspberry and flowery violet. Additional notes that layer up wonderfully are mimosa extract, musk and cedarwood. When wearing it, I can’t help but catch a whiff of my wrists for a sweet floral hit and love that it lingers on my clothes afterwards.

Now, when it comes to perfumes, we’re all wary of your chosen bottle fading after just a few minutes, but I can confirm the formula is pretty potent and does last a few hours. Personally, one additional blast was needed mid-afternoon to have an ‘all day’ label as the scent had weakened by that point (although it was still there – impressive for an eau de toilette).

Since wearing the Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh Glow Eau De Toilette, I’ve had so many compliments from friends over its fresh scent – fresh by name, fresh by nature it seems.

And with such an uplifting fragrance, I can totally see myself wearing this throughout the winter, spring, summer and autumn – it’s a scent for the seasons!

Now, onto the design of the bottle. You can always count on Marc Jacobs to deliver a cute and fun look for its perfumes. And, of course, as an iteration of Daisy it is adorned with daisies of varying sizes on the cap, whose pollen is neon colours – pink, green and purple.

The eye-catching lid is contrasted beautifully by the vibrant buttercup yellow bottle which holds the perfume. It’s bright, curved and a real standout piece for your cosmetics shelf – some might even say it ‘glows’…

The whole Glow range follows suit with the design, with Daisy Love Glow having one giant daisy on the cap and Glow having two. Having tried out all three newbie bottles on my quest for a new perfume, Eau So Fresh came out on top, personally – but only just.

While the Daisy Glow, £73 was bright, uplifting and had sweeter notes of white strawberry, marigold and wood, it didn’t last as long as the Eau So Fresh (in my opinion) – although maybe I rubbed my skin too soon after application, thus breaking down the fragrance.

The Daisy Love Glow, £73 is fresh and floral with its lemon and cloudberry inclusions while the bergamot added an earthiness and warmth. While I did enjoy it and would definitely wear to a dinner or social event, it had more of a musky finish that I tend to like – although it’s total personal preference and different people’s body chemistry will make your perfume experience different.

I’m not the only one who loves the Glow Eau So Fresh as the scent has already received a plethora of positive five star reviews, one of which gushed: “Let’s start with the gorgeous packaging and bottle! What a beautiful presentation. The scent is floral and fruity without being sweet. I love that the scent lasts all day with out reapplying. It’s very versatile and can be worn year round.”

Another raved: “Wore this to a show and kept getting compliments! Marc Jacobs Glow Edition is a fresh, vibrant scent that’s perfect for warm weather. It opens with bright grapefruit and pear, then settles into soft florals and a warm, musky base. The fragrance is light, energizing, and lasts all day without being overpowering. It’s the perfect everyday scent!”

Of course other shoppers didn’t get on quite so well with it and found that it did ‘not last at all’. One continued: “ for the price which is pretty high I think we should at least get five or six hours of smell out of it. It seems like I barely got 30 minutes and I sprayed a lot!”

That being said, for others – myself included – it lasted ‘all day’ and received ‘so many compliments’.

If you like this scent, but are after something a bit cheaper, The Perfume Shop recommends Lancôme MIRACLE , now £39.50, with its amber, peony and pepper notes, Tommy Hilfiger’s Tommy Girl Forever, £17.50 at Debenhams, and DKNY’S Be Tempted Eau So Blush,
