The Boots big Spring clearance sale has launched, but it may not necessarily be the best place to bag a bargain – so here’s where to look instead

Health and beauty retailer Boots has announced its ‘big Spring clearance sale’, with savings of up to 80 per cent off beauty, fragrance and more. The high street favourite reduced over 5,000 products in store and online, with prices starting from 50p – but due to the popularity of the sale, only around 40 items remain in stock.

Prior to my career in journalism, I worked at the pharmacy chain for four years, and during my time on the tills, I got my deal-hunting skills down to a fine art. And after diving into the Spring clearance discounts, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s not actually the best place to bag a bargain this week – but fret not, beauty fans.

While the Boots Spring Clearance definitely has some decent offers, don’t assume that they’re the best deals available full-stop. Elsewhere on the retailer’s website, there are dozens of better deals to be had, including money-saving beauty boxes, little-known discount codes, free gifts and more.

Below, I’ve shared some of the best remaining Spring clearance sale picks, alongside some of the top offers from the retailer – such as how to get £10 off the record-breaking Future Renew range.

Big Spring Clearance

My top deal from the Big Spring Clearance sale is this ELEMIS Travels: Collector’s Ed-Grooming on the Go, which is down to £50. The travel-ready set features six of the brand’s high performing formulas, and makes for the ideal Father’s Day gift in two month’s time. The included Pro-Collagen Marine Cream for Men retails at £37 while the Cool-Down Body Wash is usually £19, essentially getting you four Elemis goodies for free.

If you’re looking to squirrel away some stocking fillers for Christmas, this Ted Baker Floral Fancies Gift Set is now £5 and contains a body wash, body spray and a hand cream, which can be divided up and given as individual gifts too. The set i s also included in a three for two deal though, meaning you could get three sets for £10 – and they’re ideal if you’ve got a little one and school who is regularly invited to birthday parties.

And finally, while still full price at £108 on the brand’s own website, the YSL Black Opium Neon Eau de Parfum 75ml is now £80 at Boots. The Neon fragrance adds a fruity twist to the classic YSL Black Opium fragrance, as it adds in notes of luxurious dragonfruit to the classic rich coffee base that fans have come to know and love.

But where else should you be looking for deals?

Beauty boxes

Beauty boxes remain an incredibly popular way to get your hands on a number of products for a fraction of their retail price, and Boots has been prolific in releasing themed boxes over the past 12 months. Our current favourite is high street chain’s New & Trending Beauty Box which features a selection of the latest brands to launch at the retailer, as well as those coveted beauty buys you’ve been seeing everywhere on social media.

Worth over £145, shoppers can pick it up for £45, saving a whopping £100 on the contents, which includes the likes of Byoma, Elf, Sol de Janiero and Dermalogica.

Other new beauty boxes available at the high-street store include a REN skincare edit for £45, with contents worth £102, as well as a £40 ‘Just For You’ bundle (worth £123.71). But there’s one you can get a bonus discount on.

Usually £45, the retailer’s Little Luxuries Beauty Easter Egg is worth a whopping £147, but those who use the code EASTER5 at the checkout will be able to get it for £40. And since one of the products is worth £32 alone, it means you get the other 10 products for just £8 – which is an absolute bargain.

No7 Future Renew deal stack

As their own brand, Boots regularly run offers on their No7 range, and if you’re savvy about it, you can scoop some serious savings, particularly on their bestselling Future Renew range.

Celebrating the launch of the new No7 Future Renew Damage Protection Defence Shield SPF50 earlier this month, the retailer has revealed a discount code that gets shoppers £10 off the range. Those who enter the code REVERSE10 at the checkout will be able to snag the latest skincare innovation for less than £15, instead of the usual £24.95.

But, there’s also a three for two deal running on selected No7, meaning that if you want to try out more of the Future Renew range if you haven’t already, or want to restock on the serum that continues to be the retailer’s most sold product, then you can essentially get the new No7 Future Renew Damage Protection Defence Shield SPF50 for free.

Shoppers could pick up the Future Renew day cream (£34.95) and the Future Renew eye cream (£24.95) and add the No7 Future Renew Damage Protection Defence Shield SPF50 to their basket at no extra cost, use the code REVERSE10 to take the total to £49.50 for almost £85 worth of products.

And it doesn’t stop there, because for qualifying baskets where £25 has been spent on Future Renew, there’s also a free gift that will be automatically added to baskets. The No7 Get the Look Glamorous Night 8 Piece Make-Up Set contains a number of beauty favourites worth well over £60.

Estee Lauder freebie worth £111

Currently on Estee Lauder, Boots is giving shoppers a free gift worth £111 when you buy two qualifying products – one to be skincare or foundation. Plus, if you buy three products, you’ll also receive a setting mist gift worth £28. When I see deals like this, I have a step-by-step ritual to follow. First I’ll hit ‘shop deals in this offer’ and then set the ‘sort by’ feature to ‘low to high’ which will show me the cheapest products that will qualify for the offer.

The cheapest skincare product you can buy is the Estée Lauder Nutritious 2-in-1 Foam Face Cleanser 125ml for £22, and when paired with the £26 Estée Lauder Double Wear 24H Stay-In-Place Lip Liner you’ll see the Estee Lauder Spring Gift With Purchase 2024 land in your basket, too, It contains £111 worth of high end beauty, including a travel friendly sample of the iconic Advanced Night Repair Serum Synchronised Multi Recovery Complex.

And if you did want to add in a £28 Estée Lauder Double Wear Infinite Waterproof Eyeliner, then you’ll have managed to bag yourself £215 worth of products for £76.

MAC makeup offer

The MAC Frosted Favourites Beauty Gift Set was initially launched as one of the health and beauty retailer’s festive star gifts, and was £45 to buy. It received a post-Christmas price cut to £38.25 around Valentine’s Day – but now, it’s the cheapest we’ve seen it.

The haul stars a mini version of the newly-launched Hyper Real Serumizer, alongside four of the brand’s full sized best selling products, including the shopper-loved MACStack mascara, which is usually £27 and the Fix+ Stay Over setting spray, which is £29. This means shoppers are essentially paying £1 for the mascara, gloss, lip pencil and serumizer – or 25p each.

The Fix+ Stay Over mist has been a mainstay in the makeup bags of MUAs and influencers for years, renowned for its ability to set makeup in place for up to 16 hours, while the MACStack Mascara went viral shortly after its launch for it’s continuously buildable, clump-resistant formula.

The featured lip liner is in the shade Spice, and anyone familiar with the brand will know that this is regularly recommended to pair with the iconic Velvet Teddy shade and is one of the brand’s most bought products.

What’s even more exciting about the haul is that there are some relatively new products, too, with the Squirt Plumping Gloss Stick and Hyper Real Serumizer having only been launched last year.

If you’re on the hunt for other beauty bargains, though, Amazon is also holding a Premium Beauty Week sale, which runs until April 22. Some of the top offers include an Elizabeth Arden night cream for under £50, as well as a celeb-approved moisturiser and our Mirror Choice straighteners.
