A woman has shared her experience of visiting one of the ‘UK’s best’ car boot sales, where she discovered a host of designer bargains including Chanel, Gucci and Prada
Most people enjoy a good rummage at a car boot sale in search of a bargain, and one woman named Beca has shared her experience of visiting what she considers one of London’s finest. Beca, who has 11,000 followers on Instagram, took to the platform to document her trip to Pimlico car boot sale. She kicked off the clip by saying: “You know you live in a nice area when the cars at a car boot sale are G-wagons and they’re selling Chanel shoes.
“This is Pimlico car boot, which I think is one of the best in London.”
Beca admitted she arrived at the sale rather late in the day, acknowledging the “good things are probably gone”, but added: “Let me show you what I found.”
First, she browsed the footwear and came across some Lightning McQueen Crocs which she described as “so sick”. Beca also clocked “so many nice pairs of Adidas” alongside some Chanel flats.
She further noted there was “lots of Gucci and Hermes” on offer and even spotted a Prada ‘Ibiza Final Boss’ bag.
Beca also came across designer boxes and bags without contents, which she said people often “go crazy for”, something she found rather puzzling given they were completely empty.
She pointed out that you “have to have the patience to look through everything”, but insisted it’s “quite easy” to unearth branded goods.
Alongside the designer pieces, she also discovered “fake perfumes”, an abundance of makeup, “good jewellery dupes” and “so many trinkets”, plus various handmade items. Beca revealed she planned to arrive earlier next time, before sharing the entry prices on display. A sign showed admission was £7 for those wishing to enter at 10:15am, dropping to £5 for an 11am entry.
Those turning up at 11:30am, however, only needed to part with £1, with the car boot sale wrapping up at 2:30pm.
The clip struck a chord with viewers, going viral and amassing more than 5,000 likes.
One commenter wrote: “Yeah, we’re regulars at Pimlico. Bags and boxes help increase the value if you’re reselling an item without the bag or box.”
Another described the car boot as “unreal”, while a third declared it was “definitely the best” car boot in London.
Where is the car boot sale and when does it take place?
The Capital Carboot Sale Pimlico takes place every Sunday at Pimlico Academy, with the entrance situated on Chichester Street (Lupus Street), London, SW1V 3AT. It is roughly a 3-minute stroll from Pimlico Underground Station.
Door entry is cash only. The sale boasts both an outdoor courtyard and an indoor area, making it a viable option whatever the weather.
