‘I never thought this could work, but it does. You feel relaxed when you lie your head on your pillow and the magic begins’

Sleeping in this week’s heatwave has been easier said than done. Yes, a fan has been working overtime in my bedroom, but I’ve also been relying on a £22 buy that’s been helping me drift off a little more easily.

The product in question is NEOM’s Perfect Night’s Sleep Pillow Mist, a dreamy blend of lavender, chamomile and patchouli that helps create a calming bedtime ritual. After using it for years, I can vouch that it works; the 12 essential oils genuinely help me to relax and unwind before bed – even during the current high temperatures.

Even better, a duo containing both a 100ml and 30ml bottle is currently on sale at QVC for £45, down from £52. That works out at £22.50 per bottle. It’s an especially good deal, given that a 100ml bottle alone costs £49 on NEOM’s website, meaning shoppers are essentially getting the travel-sized version for free.

I tend to spray the mist onto my pillow and around my bedroom a few minutes before I plan to go to sleep, or I’ll reach for it while reading in bed to gently ease myself into a more relaxed state. I only need two or three spritzes to fill the room with fragrance, meaning even my 30ml bottle tends to last two or three months. That means a 100ml bottle will last around nine to 10 months, working out to about 8p-a-day.

While I wouldn’t claim it’s a miracle cure for sleepless nights during a heatwave, it does help signal to my brain that it’s time to switch off. The scent feels comforting and cocooning, helping me get into a calmer mindset before bed. It’s also a lovely way to add a touch of luxury to the end of the day without spending a fortune.

NEOM’s Perfect Night’s Sleep Pillow Mist contains a dreamy combination of essential oils, expertly blended to help shoppers relax and prepare for a restful sleep.

Another pillow mist I regularly rotate into my bedtime routine is Jo Malone London’s Moonlit Camomile Pillow Mist (£38). The fragrance blends English camomile leaves with night-blooming moonflower and soft white musk, creating a delicate, comforting scent.

Otherwise, another popular spray that I’ve come across but never used is M&S’s Apothecary Sleep Pillow (£8). It contains lavender, jasmine, vetiver and eucalyptus and has a high rating online, with nearly 100 five-star reviews.

Back to NEOM’s Perfect Night’s Sleep Pillow Mist, I’m not the only fan; it’s racked up heaps of great reviews via QVC and NEOM. This happy shopper shared: “From the first night I used it, I fell asleep very soon after putting my head on the pillow and deep breathing.

“I thought I would see what happens the second night, and the same thing happened. I cannot be without this now; it is such a comfort to have by my bedside. I also spray on my pjs before I lie down.”

Meanwhile, a second said: “I can’t go to bed without my pillow mist. I never thought this could work, but it does. You feel relaxed when you lie your head on your pillow and the magic begins.”

However, it won’t work miracles for everyone. One person said: “It was not as effective as I hoped it would be.”

On a brighter note, this Pillow Mist fan piped up: “I love this product! A small spritz is all that’s needed. The scent is relaxing, light and lingers for a long time. I use a small amount on my pillow at night, and it helps me to wind down and relax.”

And someone else said: “The scent is so calming, a really lovely blend that helps you instantly switch off after a busy day. I spray it on my pillow before bed, and it creates such a relaxing atmosphere, making it easier to unwind and drift off.”
