There is no denying that air fryers have taken over our kitchens and revolutionised the way we cook food in recent years. The market has exploded in popularity, with countless brands vying for a spot on our kitchen counters.
I recently tried out the COSORI Air Fryer TurboBlaze, and it’s a gadget that balances design, results and affordability. The best part? It’s currently on offer.
Our old air fryer was starting to get a little tired and was much too big, heavy and cumbersome for our needs, so having owned one for a while and got a feel for what we would prefer in a design, the COSORI felt like the perfect upgrade.
I asked 16 celebrities what their must-have beauty product is and this is what they told me
‘I asked Next employee to choose my outfit and more than one item made it into my wardrobe’
Usually £159.99, it’s down to £119.60 on Amazon, and while it’s not the lowest we’ve seen it (it was £88 back in January), it’s still a significant saving on the RRP, and cheaper than buying direct from the brand.
One of the standout features of the TurboBlaze is its modern, compact design. Unlike many bulky air fryers, this model manages to pack a 6L capacity into a relatively small unit, making it a great choice for kitchens where space is scarce. One of the main issues with our old air fryer was that it didn’t fit underneath our overhead cupboards so it lived on top of the fridge when not in use, which was quite unsightly. By comparison, the COSORI model is very sleek and slots nearly onto the countertop without overwhelming the space.
Adding to the high-tech feel, the top of the air fryer features touchscreen controls, with nine different functions to choose from, ranging from air frying and roasting to dehydrating and proofing dough. As someone currently buying their first house, this means I can easily avoid buying multiple small appliances, including a dehydrator and even a microwave for reheating food, and just use the air fryer.
One design quirk that has received some criticism is the button-operated drawer release. Unlike traditional pull-out baskets, this model requires an extra step to open, which some users find unnecessary and slightly inconvenient, but personally, I quite like it. It makes it feel sturdy and safe, allowing for a gentler open rather than yanking at the drawer.
With a 5-speed fan and Turbo Blaze Technology, COSORI claims this model circulates air 28% more efficiently, reducing cooking times and energy consumption. And while we’re talking statistics, it’s reportedly up to 46% faster than AC-powered air fryers, and uses up to 60% less energy than conventional ovens. As such, when the energy price cap rises in April, while the cost of running an air fryer will increase slightly due to the higher electricity price per unit, they will remain a good option for saving energy compared to traditional cooking methods.
But there’s no point in it looking good, being well priced and more energy efficient if it’s not effective, right? Well thankfully, I’ve seen some impressive results from the air fryer, which has a flexible temperature range of 30°C to 230°C. Homemade chips came out crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, while chicken stayed moist without drying out—a common issue with some air fryers. It also makes a fantastic jacket potato, too, with the perfect crispy skin and soft centre.
Another advantage is that it’s very quiet, too, so if noisy appliances bother you, this could be a significant selling point. Moreover, the non-stick basket and detachable components make cleaning straightforward, and the fact that they’re dishwasher-safe is a huge bonus.
On Amazon, the air fryer has earned a 4.8 star rating based on more than 8,000 reviews. Customers appreciate the air fryer’s functionality, ease of use, and size, finding it ideal for cooking snacks and small meals like chicken wings, quiche, pizza, or generous portions of chips.
One shopper said: “So we’ve waited as a family to invest in a air fryer, studied many reviews and we all agree this is an amazing bit of kit. It had to look good on the work surfaces, and had to be of a size that was overwhelming, its very easy to use and clean and to be honest we have used it everyday, and not used the oven (who needs a big oven) Chicken, potatoes and bacon or sausages are so much better.”
Another added: “After some internet research, decided on this make and model. Bought in the Black Friday sale at great price. I now use the air fryer pretty much everyday. This 6l model is big enough to cook a medium sized meat joint and some vegetables at the same time. Cooks brilliantly, very efficient and easy to clean.”
Though a third shopper suggested it’s not as fast as other models and didn’t like the button on the drawer, commenting: “This air fryer was hyped as being turbo super faster than others of similar wattage. It’s not. In fact the dual blaze is quicker. But it’s the quietest one on the market and it’s stylish. Very stylish. It’s square and very sleek. It’s got an annoying button that you have to press to get the drawer open which is silly. Hopefully Cosori won’t repeat that. It has no function but it does mean you need two hands whereas before one hand would do it. That said, I would buy it again. A good all rounder. But excels on style and quietness.”
The other downside for me is that the drawer can generally fit in portions for around 3-6 people – personally, I’d say it’s more like 4 adults. While it’s fine for everyday use for a small family or couple, it does restrict you if you want to host friends or family.
If you’re looking for a stylish, quiet, and easy-to-use air fryer that fits neatly into a small kitchen, the COSORI TurboBlaze is a solid choice—especially at the current discounted price. However, if you prioritize speed or need a larger cooking capacity, you might want to explore other options.
